Great food, big portions! - Edit
My wife and I ordered 4 dishes and all were fantastic but huge! The fake duck was the star but everything was good and served when ready. Nice setting and friendly and helpful staff. Would visit regularly if we lived here. Spent ¥257 (£28) with 2 juices, so slightly on the more expensive side but well worth it.

Great restaurant all round - Edit
The food was really good, large choice, and reasonably priced. The waitress spoke good English which was very helpful for me, and was so friendly. The food was delicious and served hot. The restaurant was like a fine dining place inside. Will definitely go again.

Best food ever - Edit
The food is amazing, from vegetables to fake meat and juices. Everything is vegetarian (because it’s a buddhist restaurant). The service is great and they speak English.

Excellent - Edit
The decor is really nice and fancy but not obnoxious. The dining room is in the center with two jewellery shops behind pearl curtains on the side. Menus are in English and Chinese (details in Chinese only).
Read moreWe took the fried spring rolls (spinach-like veggie and mushrooms inside), the asparagus with lily bulbs and red beans (cold side dish), veggie balls (fried balls of veggies), and spicy fern noodles (cold dish with a lot of chili and pepper).
My favourite was the noodles and my mum’s was the veggie balls, crunchy outside and soft inside. Everything was delicious and the service wasn’t slow, dishes came one after the other. One of the staff member, a woman with a yellow dress spoke English.

Tasty but compared pricy - Edit
We were almost the only guest here but therefore the food came really fast and was tasty. The curry and the dumplings were really good. For example the sweet potato with cheese was tiny compared to the price.

Monster Menu - Edit
Amazing Chinese food - humongous menu with several show dishes that are good for a special meal. Any use of milk or eggs clearly marked. I wanted to try everything but sadly I only have one stomach 🥲

Super delicious & huge variety of Chinese food - Edit
So happy that we found this gem with super delicious Chinese food! The decision of the huge variety was tough and we chose 4 dishes (2 hungry people) which was the perfect amount for us. One waitress even spoke English which was convenient. Everything we ordered was outstanding and the price more then fair

Lots of choice - Edit
Delicious food. So much choice I struggled to decide. Most food was somewhat adventurous (wood ear, lion’s mane, enoki mushrooms, for example), and my (picky eater) teenage daughter was less impressed. But there were plain noodles and a few other dishes for her. I particularly liked the tofu skin (豆腐皮). Would order again!

Very convincing meat imitations - Edit
The dishes I ordered here tasted good, but were a little lower on spices than those I had at other Beijing vegetarian restaurants. The chicken imitation looks like chicken and tastes how I imagine it to taste like (to be fair I don't know what chicken tastes like). The service was very friendly and quick.

Great varieties of selection - Edit
Very nice vegetarian restaurant with many varieties. No alliums. Have ovo lacto selection. Price medium. Nice ambience.

Finally managed to find the place. Address at Happy Cow does not seem correct. It's located at No.20 Xila Hutong. Nearest metro is Jinyu Hutong Station(金鱼胡同) Exit B, Line 8. Turn right and head towards Wangfujing Street (wide shopping walkway), walk diagonally across the walkway, head into an alley on your left, you will pass by a police station, continue walking for 5 mins on a straight alley till you see the restaurant.

I really enjoyed this place, definitely ordered far too much and had too much tea! The restaurant was hard to find though as it's the wrong place on the map.

Peaceful and delicious - Edit
Beautiful big restaurant with a massive menu. Dishes are around 35-80RMB. We recommend the roast "duck" and the braised eggplant and green beans. They also do tea ceremonies.

Worth a visit - Edit
The place was a bit difficult to find, as it was off the main street and the gps instructions weren’t completely accurate, but with a bit of perseverance you’ll find it.
Read moreThe atmosphere inside is nice, although the gift shop ruins it a little bit. It’s pretty big, but despite coming there on a Sunday it wasn’t too crowded, and there is plenty of distance to the other tables which was nice.
The menu is big and I was happy to see that it has both English and Chinese, as well as some nice big pictures to help you make your decisions easier.
The food took a while to come out and didn’t come at the same time which I wasn’t a fan of. Sitting and eating just a plate of mushrooms while you wait for the rest of the food didn’t feel ideal. The food was good but not amazing. I think it was a bit overpriced compared to most other places I’ve eaten in China.
It probably won’t become my go to place, but I would consider going there again since they had so many interesting things on the menu.
Pros: Lots of different vegan options , Menu in English and with pictures, Friendly staff
Cons: A bit expensive , Food took a long time
