A Few Vegan Options

Although the food is lovely, there is only one vegan option on each of their breakfast, lunch, and cake menus. They also have plant milks available for hot drinks. The staff are always lovely, and the cafe is bright and spacious. The farm shop holds numerous vegan products, and there are also a handful of vegan books for sale in the book section.

Revisited April 2024. They have changed the lunch menu and have added new vegan options such as a vegan burger, vegan jacket potato, and vegan flapjacks. They still offer the vegan slice and vegan chocolate and hazelnut tart. I tried the Quorn Buttermilk Burger in a Pretzel Bun, and it was it okay. The quorn patty and side salad were excellent, but the bun was so tough it was bordering on inedible. I prefer their lovely vegan slice to the burger. Nonetheless, I am thrilled that they gave expanded their vegan options. The labelling on the menu and cakes in the display are not very clear, so make sure you let staff know that you're vegan.

Not a great choice for vegans

Not a brilliant choice of vegan options to be honest & pricey for what you do get.

To be fair they do offer a good vegan breakfast but I went for lunch today followed by coffee and cake.

The soup of the day is usually vegan and today is was Tomato and Basil so I ordered that with brown bread & vegan spread.

Fron Goch used to offer several choices of vegan cakes. Not today though, only Chocolate and hazelnut tort on the menu, which was nice but very heavy. I also had an oat milk cappuccino, other plant based milks were available, while my friend had a black coffee.

Fron Goch is a garden centre which seems to make a lot of money from it's cafe which is big and airy. As mentioned before it's also a bit pricey. So, if you are into going to garden centres for breakfast, brunch or lunch and don't mind limited vegan options at a price, Fron Goch could be t place for you.

Love going for Sunday lunch, the vegan option is delicious with veggie gravy available. They also have vegan cheese and plant milk available. The vegan chocolate cake is amazing!

Lots of vegan options

Two of the daily specials were vegan (mushroom and leek en croute, and tomato and basil soup). Vegan bread options for paninis with vegan cheese and other fillings. They do a vegan breakfast here too in the mornings. Oat, soy and almond milk available for hot drinks at no extra charge. Two of the cakes were vegan: chocolate fudge and banoffee sponge. I had the chocolate and it was delicious!

Pros: Vegan options clearly labelled, Vegan food no more expensive than non vegan , Lots of choice

Cons: Expensive

Surprisingly vegan friendly

We were thrilled to find a vegan friendly garden centre. We went there for a hearty English Breakfast and weren't disappointed. They even have plant-based milk and other vegan goodies, such as a vegan hot lunch option, paninis, focaccias and cakes.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. After ordering a mocha they informed me that their chocolate powder unfortunately isn't vegan. But I was very grateful they noticed and told me, so I could order a cappuccino instead.

Pros: great location inside garden centre, friendly and helpful staff, contemporary atmosphere

Cons: no vegan chololate powder

Surprisingly large cafe for garden centre

I had been recommended to try the cafe at this out of town garden centre and it was worth the walk (approx 1/2 hr from Caernarfon on a woodland footpath following the track of the heritage railway).
There were plenty of vegan main courses, vegan soup and cheese for sandwiches and paninis. As I had already had lunch, I opted for coffee with oat milk and a large slab of the vegan chocolate cake. I noticed afterwards that there were some other vegan cakes including a chocolate and orange cake. The cake was moist and delicious with a chocolate ganache-type icing/frosting. The cafe is large, modern and has indoor and outdoor seating. Worth a visit.

Pros: Good vegan range, Several vegan cakes, Lots of parking and easy to reach on foot

Cons: A little way out of town
