Excellente adresse

Little hidden gem

What a pleasure to find a VEGAN restaurant in this corner of France. The restaurant is marked as vegetarian on Happy Cow but it is totally vegan (even the wines and beers!)
The owner who is also the cook is very friendly and explains with patience all the ingredients in his plates (he cooks with organic vegetables).
We had a lovely lunch. We ordered a starter and a main. What a surprise we got a little "galette" as tapas to start with.
As a starter, we chose both the same "polenta". It came heart-shaped and the polenta was mixed with little tofu-cubes and vegetables. A plash of obviously homemade tomato sauce and a tasty tomato half (amazing at this time of the year!).
As the main course, my friend had "Parmentier" which was potato puree mixed in layers with different veggies, I had "Bom Bay" an Indian mixed vegetable plate with saffron rice and a papadam sheet.
I'm sure we will come back.

Pros: VEGAN, ORGANIC, TASTY

Cons: The restaurant was cold (no real heating)

Merci !

Wonderful tiny restaurant

We went there for lunch. Our plan was just to make a short break but we ended up with a three course menu. It was all vegan with various gluten free options. The cook introduced the whole menu to us. There were 3-4 options for each course. Simple and very good food for low price. Very lovely owners/staff.

Pros: Vegan, good gluten free options, excellent food

Delighted!

Delighted to finally have such a restaurant in Perpignan!
They opened last tuesday and we went there on saturday night.
First, the owners are really nice and welcoming people.
They explained everything in the menu and were inclined to answer every question we had.
Then the food is really good, and quite different than what we're used to in other vegan/vegetarian restaurants in this city, the portions too are big enough for people who like to eat and need more than a few bites!
The balance between the different tastes is perfect. If you have a chance try the garlic and almond soup, it's divine!!!
And at the end, it's not pricey, the bill wasn't scarry!
They also have good local craft beers from Mosset, good homemade bread and a lot of gf options!
So, warm welcoming, good food, good prices, and good beers, everything is set to have a perfect place to go out and bring all your friends!
I'll go back as soon as i'll have a chance!
Long life to Frida's!

Pros: Good food, good beers. Seasonal and local menu., Nice welcoming. Nice decor., Not pricey. gf options.

Someone has a Frida Kahlo obsession...

We were two vegetarians and a vegan cycling through France and generally despairing at the vegan options available. So Fridas was an exciting discovery - we came both on our way south and then back north again.

The restaurant is small but well decorated by someone who clearly has a real passion for Frida Kahlo. She's a great lady, so that's a good start.

And just as much effort is put into the menu which is much more varied than almost any other vegan restaurant I've been to - including in London, where I live. Given that there is only one chef in the kitchen - and at lunchtime he is also the waiter - that's pretty impressive.

All of the food was very well prepared and presented. And tasted excellent. I won't recommend any one thing, because all the dishes we had (and we all ate something different) I would recommend.

And they serve local vegan beer too, a citrusy blonde that hit the spot.

excellent, approachable restaurant

The food was excellent and the menu varied. We ate there twice and on each occasion tried different things. The staff are extremely friendly - the chef personally explained the menu to us.

It is always a challenge to find vegetarian or vegan food in France. I will not hesitate returning to Frida's.

Impressionant...

Vegan Delight

Lovely space and lovely staff. The small restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and the food are delicious. Even though the restaurant is listed as vegetarian almost all of the dishes are vegan and gluten free.

The food and desserts tasted amazing. The chef comes out to explain everything on the menu and they speak French, Spanish, Portuguese and English fluently.

This restaurant is worth a trip to Perpignan it self for its lovely food, staff and space. And since it is the only restaurant where you can get a vegan dinner it is strongly recommended!

Pros: mostly vegan, many gluten free dishes , good prices
