My #1 Neighborhood Go-To - Edit

This is more like a vegan or vegetarian place with a few meat options. I eat the Rainbow sandwich a lot (just make sure to specify vegan cheese). It has avocado/tomato/onion mash with tempeh bacon, greens, vegan cheese & vegannaise.
They have several veg sandwiches (some with Seitan) & salads, a vegan soup of the day, a bunch of prepared sides in the fridge (beets, Brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, other veggies), and OMG the baked goods. They have more varieties of vegan cookies than I’ve ever seen anywhere else. It’s worth going just for that. They also have killer vegan cinnamon rolls, and some other rotating vegan treats: cupcakes, cake, a hazelnut pastry, various muffins. Some gluten free options, too. They have ~4 kinds of vegan empanadas and one non-vegan one. This is what I mean about the place being a bit more vegan focused.
There’s also smoothies, juice bar, organic produce, and a surprising selection of vegan and/or organic grocery items. Gardien, Tofurky, among others. Vitamins, teas, some bulk treats & nuts... this place really packs it in. A few tables and a counter, maybe enough for about 8-10 people at a time to eat-in. Friendly service to boot.

Amazing Vegan Sandwich - Edit

I just found this little place after living in Astoria for 5+ years. They have a menu with all of the vegan items marked. I've only had one sandwich so far, and it was amazing.
