Cosy place - Edit
We went there for a conference dinner and I definitely wasn't disappointed with my three-course vegan menu. Very good food, perfect location in the city centre and a pleasant, cosy interior with a great ambience.

Lovely starters & dessert, good communication - Edit
This restaurant has very good communication with customers, we booked online for 5:45 but then realised we would be late so texted the restaurant to ask can we arrive at 6pm instead and they replied very quickly and thanked us for letting them know. Also the next day we had thought we left something behind at the restaurant so we texted to ask, they were again, very quick to reply & assured us they would look for us(we didn’t actually leave it there in the end it was found elsewhere). The quick responses & eagerness to help is much appreciated.
Read moreWe looked up the menu online before going & had decided on french onion soup & tacos, while my partner was thinking of having the vegan curry, when we got there we were told that the menu online is old & they don’t offer those options anymore except they would still have the tacos but they were all out of the main ingredient so couldn’t have them that night, this was a bit of a let down as we had those options in mind, the website has a separate vegan menu but they have since merged the vegan options onto the regular menu so it should be updated on their website, that said, everything was clearly labelled on the menu we were given with VE, the drinks menu that we were given at the start did not have any VE markings and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of having to ask/google if the Prosecco was vegan so just didn’t bother to order any. However, when we got the dessert menu after our main course was finished it had the drinks on there and I saw that VE was written next to the Prosecco so I actually could have gotten it but by this point it was too late as I was already drinking soft drinks. So I would ask that they also label the drinks menus with the VE where appropriate.
Our starters were absolutely delicious. Corn fritters & bruschetta were really lovely. 10/10
The main course options were mushroom risotto or bean burger. Both ok but not worth the €18 & €19. The burger sauce was very nice, it would be just as easy to have beyond burgers (available in Musgraves & can be stored in freezer) and use those instead of bean burger would be much better in my opinion.
Dessert was lovely chocolate brownie with ice cream, chocolate & raspberry sauce drizzled, it was just the right portion size that you’d want. Staff nice & very attentive.
Pros: Good communication with customers , Delicious starters & dessert , Nice staff
Cons: A bit pricey, Main courses left more to be desired , Online menu needs updating

Fabulous!! - Edit
What a wonderful little restaurant hidden away on a side street! Friendly staff, great ambiance and delicious food made for an amazing experience. The wine list indicates vegan selections and the vegan menu, while only offering a few options, had a delicious pesto bruschetta as a starter and a yummy mushroom risotto as a main course. Split a brownie dessert with coconut ice cream. We will definitely go back again every time we’re in Limerick.

Excellent vegan food! - Edit
Had the mushroom risotto, Marsala and French onion soup. All were excellent and not just ‘adapted’ from another menu - they get it and they make quality vegan food! I highly recommend Freddy’s. I would suggest a reservation - it’s very popular and rightly so.

Little gem in a big city. - Edit
Lovely homely restaurant which has a real fanciness about it. First time going there last night as a birthday surprise, and everything was 5/5. Warm cosy ambiance, friendly staff and to my surprise a separate vegan menu. With a small but just enough variety of starters, mains and desserts. Vegetarian options are available on the regular menu. Really good price also which is always a bonus. Can't wait to go back.

Life changing food 😍 - Edit
Would’ve been 5 stars! Going to add photos of the menu and food now as there has been none uploaded and it can be discouraging when you don’t know what to expect. Lovely staff and very helpful. Beautiful food and wine. We sampled the whole vegan menu (ask for this menu as is separate to their regular menu) and everything was outstanding. Don’t live locally sadly but will have to make the journey just for this bistro. 10/10, definitely go if you have the chance. Make sure to call ahead, it can be very busy.
