A gem

What an incredible place, the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such a warm welcome. Oscar my dog was treated like a prince with his own blanket, vegan dog treats and plenty of sws from the owner.

The food was quite simply exquisite, all carefully thought to create delicious dishes.

I love their passion and vision. Healthy, seasonal organic plant based food made with love in its purest form.

We were blown away with the creativity.

Pros: Organic , Seasonal, Creativity

Wow, just wow

The warmest of welcomes for ourselves and our dogs (who were immediately given a blanket and treats). Top quality organic ingredients, cooked and presented beautifully and very exciting to try so many foraged ingredients (hogweed is a new favourite!) A truly memorable meal and despite the 3 hour round trip we've just booked to go back!

Pros: Amazing food, Lovely welcome, Great atmosphere

Vegan fine dining

What an unexpected find in an unlikely place (Barmouth, a small seaside town on the coast of North Wales)!

The food was simply fantastic. The ingredients are, wherever possible, grown or foraged by the owners. The combinations and flavours were just superb. It's a set menu of five courses, and changes regularly depending on what's available.

Not only was the food great, but the hostess was charming - and very knowledgeable about the dishes that were being served and the provenance of the ingredients.

It's a small place - so book ahead!

One small note: we went in September 2022. The listing here on Happy Cow says they're open on Wednesdays, but that's not correct. Thursday - Sunday only.

Pros: Original, delicious dishes, Wonderful flavours, Grown and foraged ingredients

Cons: Small (but really quite adequate) portion sizes

Hi, we matched the hours with Google and their Facebook so we didn't know they were closed on Wednesday as well. I've updated them now. Sending in an update is usually the best way to let us know. :)

Fine Vegan Dining

As other reviews have said, this is a vegan food experience that you must try - absolute fine dining in terms of the food, I was blown away by the inventive cooking.

A fixed menu of five courses - small plates with amazing taste combinations. The food is different every day depending on season and features locally foraged and organically grown vegan ingredients. The restaurant is more for adults with discerning taste buds - would be wasted on children and ravenous teenagers - so treat yourself and get a babysitter if necessary.

Great unusual wines and beers and dog friendly.

Pros: Fantastic Tastes, Foraged and Organic , Friendly and Intimate

HOW do you put it into words?!

I've been trying to think of a way to get across in written form, how overwhelmingly wonderful this place is.

The answer is that I can't.

We live on the other side of the country and will revisit Foxglove as soon as we can. It's the best meal I've ever eaten and you need to book a trip to Barmouth!

All that said, they have a dragon locked up and that is definitely not vegan! 😉😂

Pros: The best food ever

Cons: It's not open every day

A Vegan dining experience unlike any other. Delicious locally sourced food 💕

Lovely intimate atmosphere and friendly attentive service. Each dish was prepared and presented with pride and explanation. If you live or are holidaying in the Barmouth area, I urge you to book in.

Pros: Locally foraged food, Great taste combinations , Vegan fine dining at it’s best

Superb experience

ere do I start? The welcome we received was extremely warm, I have never been to a restaurant that was so inclusive of our little dogs, a personal water bowl and blanket for them to sit on and lots of fuss! In fact during our time there a further 3 tables in this sweet little place with dogs who all received the same welcome.
It is clear the hosts are passionate about providing a memorable experience. The drinks available are all well researched and the food was exquisite. I have now tried so many new things, many of which were sourced locally or personally foraged! Sea Leeks were a particular highlight.
Thank you for a great experience and sorry we had to dash off!! Anthony, Luke, and special thanks from Harley and Corrie!

Pros: Delicious food, Extremely dog friendly , Great beer

Cons: It’s not in Norfolk!!

Gem on the Welsh coast

Me, my partner and my parents visited on Saturday. It was an incredible experience all round. The food was absolutely delicious, super creative but without being at all pretentious. We had such a brilliant time, service was so good and it was amazing to hear so much about the ingredients (many of them foraged locally) from them. Will be back very soon!

Pros: Amazing food, Imaginative and exciting dishes, Friendly service

Amazing, just amazing!!

We went here for our staff night out and were all blown away by the whole experience. The service was spot on with the owner taking time to explain the dishes and ingredients and the food, prepared and cooked by the other owner, was tasty and beautifully presented. We all tried things we hadn’t had before! The wine of the week was an orange wine which was also lovely. The restaurant is small so be sure to book as they are busy.

Pros: Great vibe with attentive service , Unique dishes with locally sourced ingredients , Great value for money

One of the best culinary experiences I’ve had

No matter your dietary preference, you must must must visit Foxglove. Unbelievably delicious food, perfect cosy setting and utterly charming host & chef duo (plus dog!).

Antonella and partner have created something truly special. Fine-dining without the £££ price tag. An incredible array of tastes, textures, colours etc., really creative and unique dishes.

Can’t wait to come back😄

Pros: All vegan, all delicious, Creativity and amazing flavours and textures, Super friendly hosts and cosy environment

A Gem

After great reviews we felt we had to try this restaurant and travelled many miles to do so. It definitely did not disappoint. The owners are a really lovely couple and both are clearly food passionate They made us, our dogs and the other diners very welcome. Luke is a clever chef who conjured up beautifully presented food with subtle layers of flavours and with produce that was either local or foraged. It was too difficult to name our favourite course, each stood out. We wish them every success - they genuinely deserve it! 😊

Pros: Owners passionate about good vegan food , Great relaxed atmosphere , Dog friendly (very 😊)

Flawless and Fabulous Dog Friendly Fine Dining.

If you can go try this AMAZING new dog friendly vegan restaurant in North Wales do it ! Just had the best meal of my life- honestly it’s better than the vegan Michelin fine dining places I’ve been in the past . Travelled a 200 mile round trip just to go there for the 5 course tasting menu and it absolutely was worth it.

I feel like we went as strangers and came out as friends. Wishing Antonella and Luke all the success they deserve.

They smashed it out of the ball park, completely flawless food and service (especially in Greyhound cuddles according to my two hounds) can’t wait to go again soon.

Pros: Service & Food - Exceptional

Cons: None

innovative menu

we visited this new restaurant last night and the taster menu was a great experience. Every dish was made with great care and were full of flavour...The ambience was good, the owners lovely, even our dog was made welcome with a bowl of water and a comfy dogbed to lie on.It was immediately clear that the chefs training was 5 star by the way the food was cooked and presented. If you want interesting and healthy food (no chips here)then this is for you. currently it is only open evenings but they are soon to open during the day.
This place is a great addition to Barmouth and worth a visit for vegans and non vegans alike. we will definitely be going back.

Pros: interesting and tasty food, nice cosy atmosphere with friendly staff, dog friendly
