Great food and drink

Had the bacun gruyere burger. It was tasty, rich and creamy with some sweetness. Very filling and couldn't finish the delicious fries. The watermelon margarita is fantastic.

I was there decently early on a Monday night, it wasn't busy and food came out very quickly. Seems like would be a great place to get drinks later in the evening.

Pros: Very flavourful, Delicious cocktails

Strange staff

The food tastes nice and the portion size is fair but somehow I did not feel welcome at this place although being the only customer.

Some of the best vegan food in Portland!!

I loved everything they had on their menu. Get the Mac and cheeses for sure! Atmosphere is on point as well.

Gets your groove on

The vegan food here is so very tasty--creative, satisfying, elevated--all available in a chic, spacious bar--we are grateful, Portland! We found the vegan proteins here especially impressive; they have great texture and flavor, always leaving us hungry for more. The decor has some design flair to it, with a downtown cool vibe that can be loud and boozy at times, but if you can find an empty corner and let yourself groove a bit over vegan deliciousness, it can be fun--it's just as good to get it to go!

Cool place, not-so-great food

Stopped into Fortune before a show with my partner one night. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but we waited quite a while for our food and what we received was disappointing. Everything tasted overcooked to the point of being kind of burned, and for what we paid we didn't receive much at that. The vibe of the place was great, the server was friendly, but we likely won't be back after feeling pretty disappointed with our order.

Great food, small portions, overpriced

I came to Fortune from Seattle for promises of great food and a vegan mac and cheese flight! The food itself did not let me down - but the portion sizes were much smaller than what was promised on their menu and by the waitress. Other pictures from this location showed large portions of mac and cheese flight and 4 mozz sticks. We ordered both and received only 3 mozz sticks and underwhelming 6-8 oz containers of mac and cheese. Wouldn’t eat here again due to prices alone - $13 for 3 mozz sticks and $20 for $5 worth of mac. Good selection, tasty food, but don’t eat here unless you’re ready for an $80 meal.

Pros: All plant based, Creative food

Cons: Expensive

The best mac and cheese!

We ate here two nights in a row because the food was so delicious. The chipotle bacon mac is hands-down the best vegan mac and cheese I’ve ever had. 🙌

Super tasty bar food in downtown Portland

Bars and vegan food seem to be a trend in Portland right now, and you know what? Nothing wrong with that. We ordered waaaaay to much food and everything was fantastic. The Parm fries and mozzarella sticks were great. The Caesar salad was the bomb. Burgers and steak sandwich was also a hit. A must visit if you are downtown.

Pros: Good options , Great food , Fun vibes

Great steak sandwich

I stopped into Fortune at 5pm on a Thursday afternoon and sat at the the bar. I got a steak sandwich and a watermelon margarita and both were exceptional! The bread was the best part, the ciabatta was warm and pillowy. The steak was soft but also meaty, and all around I enjoyed the sandwich. Would visit again when traveling in the area!

Incredible

I loved this place. Truly unreal flavors and service. I’m so glad there’s a vegan place open so late at night downtown… weirdly though, it wasn’t filled with people there to try the food, mostly bar hoppers! Depending on your vibe it has what you want!

The burger was unreallll. The mozzarella sticks were insane!!! I want to go again and again!!

Pros: Food , Filling , Flavorful

Cons: Ambiance (very bar-y. Could be your vibe!)

Unbelievable Food

The food is incredible. Been here twice and have been blown away both times. Just amazing flavours and good quality food. The portions have felt significant and it’s seriously one of my favorite restaurants. This time we just got the mozzarella sticks and the Mac sampler. The variety on the flavours of Mac and cheese was good and hands down the best mozzarella sticks we’ve ever had. Highly recommend you check this place out. It can get busy and club like late at night. They serve food late!

Live jazz on Wednesdays

On Wednesdays, they have live jazz starting at 8pm - which is when I arrived. It was a chill vibe, (when I visited) 3 musicians, and from what I could tell if you have your instrument handy, they may even accept you into the group for a few songs/solos. On the Wednesday in early October that I went, there was only about 15 folks there max. Definitely no line out the door.

I came back late on a Saturday night, and there was a line out the door and loud DJ music that made it impossible to hold a conversation. Definitely a different vibe.

The first bite of my bacon jam & guyere burger was pure heaven. I savored every bite… until the sugar hit my bloodstream. I loved it, but it ultimately was too sweet for my pallet.

Pros: Unique burger toppings, Pick your vibe (jazz, DJ, or quiet)

Drooling

Stayed at the Sentinel Hotel specifically because Fortune was inside. Ate the tenders every night like I was in my early twenties coming back from partying starving 😂 So good! The rosemary garlic fries are huge and so tasty. Highly recommend.

Pros: Tenders, Rosemary Garlic Fries

Cons: Virtually no N/A beverages , Pretty dark atmosphere

100% plant based 100% Delicious

Great bartender, super friendly & gave great recommendations on their menu as well as other local vegan eateries. I truly couldn't decide between this burger and the Pesto Mac and cheese. Next time I'm in town I'll try that with the brownie and ice cream.

The burger was quite large even for my big mouth so I ate 1 onion ring separately. I did not want to smash down that fluffy beautiful bun. The jam added a touch of sweet & I don't think I've ever had bacon jam (real or faux).

Side note on the burger patty, I believe they could fool a meat eater with this one.

Truly delicious and filling.

Pros: Flavor~ Jam & sauce, Potion, Ambiance

Great food and cocktails

Simply amazing and gorgeous cocktails. Three kind of Mac and cheese to choose from, so we tried two. Mozzarella sticks are crunchy and incredibly cheesy. Bakon wrapped dates are indescribably decadent. Bakon jam & Gruyere burger is a sweet and savory messy delight. Friendly staff and nice quiet atmosphere.

Fortunate Find

I ordered the Crispy Chikun Burger, which is panko and herbs de provence crispy chikun, romesco, butter lettuce, pickles, and herbed aioli on a potato bun served with fries and ketchup. The burger was good, but messy. The fries were crispy and seasoned.

Pros: all vegan, big portions

Cons: can be busy

Shockingly great bar food

Worth going just for the food when they open and it’s quieter and less busy. Great hidden gem downtown!

Pros: Bakon Jam & Gruyere Burger = best burger in town, Bakon Wrapped Dates & Mozzarella Sticks, Mac & Cheeze

Cons: All chick’n items surprisingly bland on inside, Chick’n Parm is especially dry & bland, Sometimes out of key ingredients on slow days

Super impressed

I wasn't sure if I could take an omni here based on some of the reviews but the food was so good! I was super skeptical about the bacon wrapped dates especially because most vegan bacon isn't that realistic to me but this was great! Everything was tasty and atmosphere was relaxed but fancy at 6pm on a Friday night, great whiskey sour. Perfect date place near Portland Center Stage.

Vibes & Vittles

Great lounge vibe with a small but satisfying menu and a wrap around bar with NA options. The bacon wrapped dates are standouts! Good for a date or a group hang. Such a treat to have a late night vegan spot - open until midnight even during the week!

Pros: Menu options, Varied seating, Late hours

Cons: More gluten-free options would be nice, Fireplace was broken

Not worth the visit

Super confused about the great reviews this place received, as I was definitely not impressed. I ordered the Schwarma Bowl, which is described in the menu as: "Beyond Shawarma Kabobs served over cauliflower rice, edamame, tzatziki & roasted seasonal vegetables. Topped with chimichurri & parsley." Cauliflower rice was not used (I think bulgar or something similar was substitued - they never said this would be the case), there was no edamame, and the roasted veg was red and green peppers, poorly prepared eggplant, and far too many onions.

Overall, the dish was a smallish size, and tasted lacklustre at best. Bar service only, and the guys behind the bar were not super friendly and seemed generally uninterested to be there. The drinks were the best part but I certainly wouldn't go back, nor would I order anything else to eat.

Cons: Unfriendly service, Food didn't match the description , Food was mediocre

Stylish Vegan Bites in Portland

Super recommend, walked over across The Burnside Bridge - totally worth it! Rad environment that’s fully vegan. Cool bar vibe, with zero proof options, I was able to get a refreshing mocktail.

Ordered the Vegan Caesar Salad - I devoured it! Photos can’t do it justice. Also ordered the vegan mozzarella cheese sticks but had to get them to go, as the salad is very satisfying. Would totally come back!

Very date worthy and I saw they have desserts!

Pros: Fully Vegan/Plant-Based w/Cool Vibe, Rad Establishment w/Friendly Service, Delicious Zero Proof Drinks and Caesar Salad!

Cons: Dim Lighting (Pro/Con)

crispy chikun burger, dude

ya know, I remember waiting in a line like 45 mins at a vegan fest to get a fried chick'n burger this good. perfect mayo and pickles. omg 💞
--
followup 2nd one: not as good, the bun fell apart. you glutenfree ppl ruin everything for us. chkn patty and fries still worth it tho. bartender says they're working on it. I will be back.
--
they'll put the same fried chk patty, sliced, on the ceaser salad. it was exactly what I wanted.
