Delish and great views - Edit
Only one true vegan option for the pizza, but it's a good one. Had the Level 4 with yuzu hop water and the Scatter Plot beer. Perfect meal for 2 people. Will definitely be back next time we're in town. Prices are reasonable.

I love a wood fired pizza, so no complaints here! The pizza was very good. The only thing that could have made it better was if they had more vegan options. That being said, you could substitute vegan cheese on any of the vegetarian pizzas.

On April 21, 2024 I dined here. I ordered the only vegan entree option that they had, the isotope. It was served with fries, but both the isotope burger and the fries were not hot. They were at room temperature. It's almost as if everything is made ahead of time and then they just serve it up on a platter when someone orders it. I also had a salad which was delicious and a nice compliment to the Burger.
Read moreYou order at the counter and then someone brings the food to you at your table. Service is just okay. No one comes to your table to check on you or to see how you're doing with your food. However, the staff is very friendly.
This establishment was close to where we were staying in Astoria and was convenient for us. When I'm in Astoria next time, I will try another place to eat.

The view from the balcony where we got pizza was really nice around sunset ! The pizza was pretty good, but not my favorite. Overall would definitely come again, but maybe try the vegan sandwich.

Good beer selection. The vegan pizza was just ok in my opinion. Putting Tabasco on the pizza took it from ok to decent, and it was pretty good cold the next morning.
Read moreChips and salsa were average. The view on the balcony was awesome and everyone was really friendly and welcoming so I do definitely recommend it, especially considering the lack of vegan restaurants in Astoria.

Great vegan chick’n burger - Edit
I have been to FGB a couple times and my favorite vegan item is the chick’n burger with the chipotle aioli. I had the vegan pizza as well (upstairs only) and it was too dry for me, helped to order a side of extra tomato sauce to dip it.

Have had FG pizza before becoming vegan, one of the best vegetarian pizzas I have had, but definitely the best vegan pizza around. Other vegan options as well, and great staff!

Brewery with a “chicken” burger and a pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. Had the pizza, dough was very tasty and loved the pepperoni, mushrooms were supposed to be “wild” ones but I doubt it. Super friendly staff, good drinks!

I am a little torn with the rating. Fort George has been a favorite place of ours for beer for some years. I feel like the food menu may have had more good options a couple of years ago. We did have the pizza with spinach with added veg. Pepperoni and veg. Cheese. It was good enough. I still recommend coming here if you like beer at all. The people who work here have always been great and the tap list is great too.

The title stands for Best Pizza Of My Life. I didn't have expectations when coming here. I saw the reviews and was like "sure". But when we got our vegan pepperoni pizza....wow. First, it looks good. Like I ain't never seen no pizza look that good. Second the smell. Damn I think that's homemade seitan pepperoni. Third, the taste was all there. The crust, sauce, vegan cheese, and topped with vegan pepperoni was so good. Will come here everytime to eat this when in the area.

The vegan pepperoni won me over. There is also vegan cheese if that’s your thing. Lots of veggies to choose from and a few sauce options for us. Also, there is a great sandwich with vegan meats and cheeses that I like to order.

Contactless pickup and the absolute best vegan pizza I've ever had! Vegan cheese substitution is free, and the vegan pepperoni is delicious. While some Astoria places have dropped vegan food during the pandemic, this place keeps us fed and happy.

Great pizza and Beer - Edit
Had the artichoke and lemon pizza. It was delicious, light and just all around yummy. The kitchen mistakenly put ricotta cheese on our pizza and when I pointed it out the waiter rushed to remove the pizza and comped our entire meal plus brought free guacamole and chips while we waited. Totally unnecessary as I understand mistakes happen. They went above and beyond to fix their mistake. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Got the vegan pepperoni, it was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! They also had several other options including vegan burgers with vegan aioli and vegan cheese, sandwiches, and apps! Their beer was also delicious and I’m not much of a beer drinker. I think they’ve added a lot of vegan options since some of the bad reviews, because I was very impressed with the amount of options!

Beer is great. I had the Italian sandwich which was mostly field roast sandwich meats and veggies on good bread. Vegan cheese available for the pizza. No vegan options in the Lovell taproom but the pub and upstairs pizza spot do.

Nice unexpected surprise - Edit
We were looking for a place in Astoria and found that they had a vegan Italian sandwich available. Unfortunately it was sold out by lunch time (awesome!) but the hostess asked if we were vegetarian or vegan. After answering, she went through all of the different vegan options available and we settled on a vegan pepperoni pizza. The staff was very knowledgeable about veganism which was refreshing. Would absolutely come back!

We came here for the beer but I was excited to see a vegan italian sandwich on the menu - came with an excellent side salad. Plus, they had several other items marked vegetarian: chili, pizza (with vegan mozzarella available), falafel, hummus, salads... any of these could be made vegan by eliminating the dairy.

The menu in the pub has 2 vegetarian options. I ordered the veg chili with no cheese to make it vegan. Not worth the price. Flavor is okay, but servings are tiny. Plus they brought it out to me with cheese first! Yikes. Chips and salsa/guac are GREAT though. I would eat that again for sure.

I was not thrilled by the limited options available here. I ended up with the vegetarian chili minus the cheese, and got it served over fries. Not a particularly satisfying or a tasty meal. Vegans should probably look elsewhere.
