Mostly vegan lunch-only buffet in a Taiwanese/Ecuadorian fusion style (like lentils). Choose rice plus 4 sides (8 to choose from), soup and fresh juice or soy milk for $2.75 (Jan ‘20). Mostly fresh vegetables, plus 1 or 2 mock meat options. Also made-to-order sizzling noodles, fried rice, fried noodles, and spring rolls available. Huge portions. Can be busy at lunch time so be prepared for a wait. Open Mon-Sat 11:30am-3:30pm. Closed Sun.

Super delicious food, $3.50 for el menu del día. Everything was vegan as far as I could tell.

AMAZING FOOD - one of our favorite places in Cuenca so far! - Edit
This is an awesome place. We walked in and had the lunch, $2.50 per person I believe for the lunch combo with a drink, soup, and a main meal. It was so much food and honestly some of the best veggies that I've ever had in my life. The mock meat, soup, and fried plantains were on point. This is my favorite place in Cuenca so far!

Formosa - Edit
It has amazing vegan Taiwanese food. It is completely healthy, different options in the menu and a very complete buffet full of vegetables and typical dishes. The owners are super friendly and helpful. The venue is very calm, they have indoor and outdoor tables. The food is ready very fast and the portions are big.

My order: Chiau Fa, Chiau Mien, Spring Roll, Menu (Mock meat goulash, mashed cassava, empanada, rice, salad garnish, soup and lulo juice) and Menu (Beans, spaghetti, empanada, rice, salad garnish, soup and lemonade)

HUGE portions and great service - Edit
I ordered the stir-fry noodles with mock meat served with green vegetables (and some spring rolls to take away). There was enough food for two people on my plate for only $3 and I couldn't finish it! The lady serving was lovely and attentive to all her customers. It's really great value for money but I found the noodles too oily.

Agree…chau mein noodles were too oily and had an unappetizing smell. Lots of food, though.

All-around great Chinese lunch buffet spot near the University - Edit
Nourishing food and experience, so nice we went twice! Lunch menu gets you rice +4 items +soup +juice for just $2.75. Or get sizzling noodle plate (served with a fried egg on top so not vegan; might need to ask about the noodles themselves), fried rice or fried noodles. Huge portions, nice Taiwanese/Chinese flavors (ie. cabbage) with Ecuadorian influence (ie. lentils). At 2:30pm on a Thursday it was very busy, with most tables occupied and people kept coming: Saturday was more relaxed. Delicious clean food, not too oily (except the optional empanada which is fried; choose pineapple or veg filling). I empathized with the lady serving, as she could use some help! I’ve never seen someone literally run so much to keep up with the rush; so please have patience; she’s lovely tho and delivers your lunch with a smile and hearty “Gracias!” every time :)
