Free Food's Fab

My little daughter and I regularly enjoy a free lunch at FoodCycle Woolwich, held most Fridays from 12:30pm, at Woolwich Common Community Centre.

Whilst the menu isn't always totally vegan, the lovely volunteer chefs (especially vegetarian John, also with a vegan daughter) normally make a vegan-friendly alternative.

With Covid, the lockdowns, and loss of activities, the lunches have helped my daughter gain confidence amongst big groups, whilst exposing her to people with a wide range of backgrounds.

There are similar vegan-friendly free lunches we attend nearby, such as Good Food in Greenwich, and Roots4Life, all worthwhile causes using food that would otherwise be wasted.

Just to note, I've never been asked about my financial/home status (it's open to all), or to leave a donation (I would if they asked), so please don't feel awkward about attending your local meal.

Fantastic Charity

This is a fantastic charity that cook meals for the cities most venerable of people. All dishes cooked are meat free and more recently they have been cooking more vegan dishes. I have heard some amazing things from food cycle. I wish them all the support they require to help all of those who require it.

Pros: Meat free, Amazing cause , Well supported
