Omg! - Edit
I can't believe it took me so long to finally come have a meal here! I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so excited that I just scarfed my food down. The cucumber, ginger, and lime juice is so yummy and refreshing, and the Mediterranean bowl was perfect. Staff is lovely, as well. Can't wait to try more menu items!

Ratatouille Flashback Moment - Edit
It has been years since I had been able to enjoy a Chile Relleno. My sister surprised me with lunch from Foodamed as I was home working and it did not disappoint. It took me back to my younger years. She also got me some Donuts and Empanadas. Everything is delicious.

Yummy and healthy - Edit
I’ve been to Foodamed several times. I live in Indiana but grew up in Mcallen, and make sure I eat here whenever I visit . I love the Revitalizer and Turmeric Sunrise juices.
Read moreThe Foodamed nachos and buffalo cauliflower wings are my favorite appetizers. The Chile relleno and tex mex plate are really good too.
Today I had the jalapeño burger and fries and loved it. The fries are real potatoes not freeze dried.
They don’t use a lot of salt , but you can ask for salt to add
The desserts are great, especially the cakes and banana bread.
Wonderful service. Very kind and knowledgeable staff
Love the little retail section too
This last time I got to meet Dr Cooper which was really cool. She’s very nice!
Pros: Healthy options, not processed , Great service , Nice variety

Never again - Edit
If foodamed was my introduction to vegan food, i would’ve found it very difficult to transition from an omnivore to a vegetarian. The food was very bland and squishy. The color scheme was off putting, as was the smell of the restaurant. It felt more like they were cashing in on a diet fad than actually providing a service to vegans. I ate the botana and the wings. The only item that was slightly tasty was the dry rice, everything else tasted and looked unappetizing.

The Most Amazing Vegan Restaurant In Texas By Far… - Edit
Today I have the opportunity and honor to have eaten at the best vegan restaurant in Texas by far. Located in the Rio Grande Valley, city of McAllen. This fully vegan restaurant has it all. I will attach several photos so you could see the great looking plates. Eduardo the Manager is very knowledgeable and very friendly, Jacqui the Waitress was also very friendly and helped us decide what to eat from the vast variety of plates. This amazing restaurant belongs to Dr. Cooper who owns a wellness center in the area, she will do blood work and depending on what you have wrong in your blood work she will help you achieve your goal through diet, the restaurant has a meal plan option and they ship countrywide. Yes you read that right lol 😂 countrywide, you just pay for shipping. Really amazed by this restaurant and it’s staff.

Vegan delights - Edit
Light bright environment with lots of live plant landscaping very comfortable seating and over the top service. They had the Most choices for vegan dining of any fooderies that we visited in McAllen. All of the meals start with a small portion of soups the two we tried were amazing! A very wide selection of entrées appetizers and desserts. They’re fresh waters such as Cucumber ginger apple, and watermelon mint we’re perfectly balanced. If you are a vegan in McAllen Texas I cannot recommend this restaurant strongly enough. #Veganuary

Good lord - Edit
I picked up food for lunch and dinner, so I ordered a black bean burger with fries and the Pancit. The fries were cooked through, but soft (not crispy) so I might not go for those again but the burger was perfection and the pancit, which sat out for hours before I ate it, was fabulous. The food didn’t take very long and the staff were nice; so if I ever get the chance I’d love to dine in. There was plenty of space and it was bright and clean. Total gem of a place.

Healthy good food - Edit
Foodamed has a plenty of options to choose from, it’s actually kind of hard sometimes. The new location is so much nicer and I enjoy the vibe much more. Their food is pretty good health wise without tasting “healthy”. Absolutely love this place.

Healthy with FLAVOR - Edit
Cute restaurant with a shop inside with prepackaged to go meals also. They start you out with a complementary lentil soup. We got the bbq meatball sub, pancit, and coconut curry. All three meals were delicious and didn’t lack on flavor. The portions are decent. The pancit plate was HUGE. We also got Mac and cheese and it was ok. The staff was friendly. The manager even came over to ask my husband how he liked the sub since they switched to a local bread shop and wanted to see how the customers felt about it. Overall a very pleasant experience!

I ordered the Tex mex burrito and it was overly salty, I didn’t quite enjoy it for that reason. The side guac and pico de Gallo was good.

Awesome place!! - Edit
They just moved to a new location just down the street across from Barnes and Noble. I love their TexMex Veggie wrap and their Mediterranean plate. I also tried their coconut chickpea curry, and it was good. You can also get vegan meal prep food to go from the refrigerators or ordering online. I ordered hot meals over the phone, and when I got there to pick them up, I was able to pick out a lot of meals freshly made meals from the fridges that I can eat on all week. I can’t wait to try their large selection of healthy veggie burgers! Overall, very impressed!

Disappointed - Edit
In McAllen on work, I went here because it is the only strictly vegan restaurant in the area. Based on other reviews they must have had a bad day. The cauliflower appetizer was promising—different from the menu description but good. Rather than just buffalo flavor, they presented a tray with two each of buffalo, honey mustard and bbq flavored florets. Very tasty. Unfortunately, the black bean burger was a fail. It was very dry and plain tasting. There were many attractive sounding options and if I lived near here I would give them another try.

Been here couple times now and i can't get enough. The chile relleno is awesome. Their fully loaded nachos a meal unto themselves. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere encompasses what this establishment is promoting. Don't pass this place up of you have a chance to stop by.

I love this place. It has a great atmosphere. I wish I could take them back to my home state with me. The nachos are amazing. Their blackbean tamales are very good. The pancit has been my husbands favorite so far. The waitstaff are courteous and seem to genuinely care about their service.

Food good but... - Edit
We've been twice and enjoyed ordering from an extensive vegan menu. They are 7th Day Adventists so they close early on Friday and are closed Saturday's. Hubby loves their pasta shells, we both like the "cheesy" nachos. Portions are average. Prices are a little high. Both visits we got a cup of soup included but this not mentioned on menu. They make their own juices and judging from the samples we were given, they are very good. Next door is an Asian market and they carry a number of vegan "meat items." The first time we went the waiter knew the menu but service was slow. The second time we went the waiter made multiple mistakes such as allowing us to order specials which were not available, not putting in our order properly until 30 minutes after we ordered and forgetting to give us silverware.
