Enjoyable meal - Edit
We really enjoyed our meal here, and it’s a nice atmosphere too. A decent number of vegan dishes and others that can be made vegan. It was a nice foray into some more western food for a change. Pricey though!

Top tea leaf salad - Edit
If there's a (vegan) tea leaf salad, I basically have to have it. This was one of the most unique ones I've had, and it was also up there on taste level. It came deep fried inside of a wrap (they called it the Burmese wrap). Lots of vegan options as well, including vegan eggs and cheese.

A bit pricey - Edit
Previous review under this one! So I went back a second time and ordered the vegan ceviche, which came with mushroom meat instead of fish. There is an option for gluten-free tortilla chips, but they have milk so I went without. The portion was big and the taste was fresh and very citrussy. I enjoyed it very much. I also ordered a cold drip coffee with coconut milk that was lovely.
Read moreFirst visit - This was my first time here, and I'd heard the hype, but was a little disappointed. The vegan options were scattered throughout the menu - a mushroom burger, a couple of wraps, cheese Philly steak, a veggie stew, and a selection of salads. I was actually looking forward to eating one of the salad selection plates, but closer inspection revealed that all but one contained raisins - something I detest. Unfortunately, the salads are made in advance, and I was not prepared to pick them out of every dish. In the end, I ordered a deconstructed spring roll salad and a side order of ciabatta. The dish was pretty, but the tofu was not seasoned, and the dressing was way too sweet for my taste. They were happy to exchange it for a lemon vinaigrette. My meal cost over 250 baht, which is steep for a fairly unexceptional salad and bread. Maybe I just chose the wrong thing to order. I guess I'll have to try something different if I go back.

Great Place! - Edit
We went to only vegan and vegetarian places while in Chiang Mai, and the last evening we ended up here and immediately started doubting our choices! This place was great! Delicious food and kombucha, good service and a beautiful outside garden to sit in.
Read moreThe portions were huge as well, and the menu and staff very clear on the vegan options.
They have this nice chewy mushroom meat alternative that you can sub for meat in those dishes, and good vegan cheese (although as everywhere in Thailand, it's not really melted). We liked the sandwich and nachos more than the wrap but all were delicious!

Know what you’re getting yourself into: EXPEN$IVE! - Edit
This place is the most expensive I’ve been to in Chiang Mai - most dishes are over 200 baht, and subbing vegan cheese costs extra. I’ve had the roast veggie wrap (which was really good), the quinoa salad w/ mango (which was super tasty and healthy), and the vegan spinach ravioli (which deff SOUNDS good but was lacking a little in “cheesiness” and flavour, and I’m left a lil dissatisfied).
Read moreAll in all everything was pretty okay-good, but for the cost, I think there are better options out there. I just happened to come a few times with Omni friends. The seating area is also pretty nice.

I love this place, one of my favourite cafes to visit when I’m in the area. If a dish isn’t already vegan (and gf!) they can probably do it. Vegan cheese to die for and vegan scrambled tofu! Delicious house made vegan treats too.

DO NOT EAT HERE - Edit
Ordered the Mexican wrap. Paid 20 baht for vegan cheese and another 20 baht to sub chicken for mushrooms. Wrap came with NO cheese and CHICKEN. I was the only person in the restaurant...how do you screw that up? Got it for takeaway so I couldn't send it back. Super disappointing.

Nice atmosphere, mostly delicious - Edit
We like the place but go there no so often due to the price level. We like several vegetarian dishes, salats, the wraps with humus or avocado and some cakes. Good coffee can be served with coconut “milk“ (creme). Staff is very friendly and - with some few exceptions - attentive as well. Some staff is Burmese with English language skills but not Thai skills. 3.5 stars

Cons: Higher price, some times car parking problems, Airplane noise from time to time, Not fully vegetarian

Spiked with Chicken - Edit
Me and my partner went to this place expecting a good experience based on the reviews and great vegan options. We were happy to find that there was vegan versions of more or less all the ingredients on the menu. I ordered the Mexican wrap and asked what the vegan version would have instead of the chicken and sour cream, the waiter explained that I could get it with faux meat (mushroom) and vegan cheese, which sounded good by me and I ordered it along with a vegan sweet potato salad.
Read moreThe Wrap was served and after eating one half, my partner asked for a bite. She noticed something with a meaty texture, which turned out to be tiny pieces of fried chicken. The manager explained that the chef just looked at the word Mexican and made the regular one, and of course apologized. Another guest in the restaurant started laughing and the manager started laughing as well and smiled through the whole episodewitch made me quite uncomfortable.
The manager asked what we wanted in order to rectify the situation, and since not much could be done at this point, we said that we wouldn't pay for the food that we had received.
We went home and I threw up everything that I ate into the toilet.
It is sad since the place has a good potential, but it is quite pricey compared to other places in Chiang Mai that serve similar food.
If you go to Food4Thought, please triple check that your vegan food is actually vegan and doesn't contain meat or dairy when you receive it.
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: Chef doesn't read the order, Expensive, Staff laughing at serious issues

great find - Edit
Ate lunch here one day after touring around on our bike all day, it was just what we needed, we got the tofu scramble with gluten free toast and a vegetarian sandwich, they accidentally made the sandwich with chicken on it but before we took a bite we noticed and they remade and fixed it up straight away, besides that it was really lovely! saw them making sun dried tomatoes on the roof with the natural sunlight rather than a machine which was pretty cool!

Western vegan food. Yummy! - Edit
We had to check out at 11am from our Airbnb so decided to come here for lunch and chill. Have read about this in the blogs and since it was a 13-minute walk away, we headed there. Turned out to be a great choice!
Read moreWe had the following:
1. The Orchard (Salad) 159 THB
Fresh fruit with avocado, chickpeas, nuts, carrot and cabbage on greens served with strawberry vinaigrette. Requested for a vegan version.
2.The Avocado (Hot Sandwich) 129 THB
Avocado with "vegan scrambled eggs" (it's actually a slice of seasoned tofu so it's not exactly scrambled), tomato, romaine on on vegan ciabatta. I
3. The Mushroom & Kale (Hot sandwich) 159 THB
Pan-fried shiitake mushrooms, Thai-kale and capsicum topped with dried tomato. Served with house roasted chilli mayo on vegan ciabatta. Requested for a vegan version with no parmesan.
This restaurant serves meat but has vegan options clearly marked. It also states that most items on the menu can be veganised. The focus is on local, homemade and they're also part of the ugly food movement.
We enjoyed all the dishes we had. Super yummy! I loved how huge the salad was and the sandwiches were really full of flavour. Definitely recommended.
Pros: Everything can be made vegan

Lovely café, great atmosphere. Plenty of vegan options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also, plenty of non-vegan dishes could be made vegan with easy swaps. The staff was very happy to offer that. They have vegan cheese, tofu, vegan bread, etc. Great place.

Overpriced, Ungrateful Staff, very slow service... - Edit
Our experience of August 2017 was bad. Our drink order was messed up, and our bagels took about 40 minutes to arrive. When we mentioned that to the guy who took our money, he had a "I don't give a rat's ass" condescending attitude, and didn't even apologize. So we ordered 2 bagels and the waitress acted like she's never heard the word vegan before - when it's all over the menu - very poor training. Then we asked if the Tea comes in a teapot (very common in Thailand and asia) or in a cup. We gestured 3 times the pouring movement and the shape of "teapot", to make sure she understood, and she confirmed that tea comes in a teapot, so we ordered 1 chai to share. So 10 minutes later we get ONE cup of chai. We explained that we were told it was a teapot (otherwise it should be half the cost), so they took away the cup, split it in 2 smaller cups and brought us the lukewarm tea that also tasted like [censored] because they put too much coconut milk. Then we waited for over 30 minutes for our bagels to arrive, and by the time they arrived our tea was cold!!! This is ridiculous. And considering that they charge 2x as much as they should, the pathetic service and quality they provide is just outrageous. It's too bad owners of that place don't give a damn about providing a decent service. Skip it and go elsewhere. Everywhere in Chiang Mai was better than that. * Also, they have some sick art upstairs of people looking high on drugs with their heads wrapped in plastic bags, suffocating, - may not be safe for children, etc, so watch out.
