Limited vegan options but good for a pit stop

Edit - May 2024: Loads more vegan options on a separate menu. Chips are gorgeous and so was the hot chocolate.

Edit - January 2023: Lovely vegan hot dog, asked for onions and ketchup and it came fully loaded. Would 100% recommend.

Visited today with my family and our dog. Enjoyed our coffees, all with oat milk and tea with soya milk. There was only one option of cake today out of the whole cake counter but it was really tasty.

Small cafe with separate vegan menu

The cafe at Locke Park is a nice find. The standard menu serves meat but there is a separate vegan menu (we asked for this, photo below). Options include full breakfast, paninis, hot dogs and sausage rolls.

It can get very busy and there are limited tables inside (roughly 4/5). Many more tables out the back on a private decking area, if the weather is nice. Also the café has a window for takeaway.

Pros: Separate vegan menu

Lovely cafe food and great service

They have a great vegan range including breakfast buns, full English, burgers, hot dogs, paninis and sandwiches.

We had a cheese, pesto and sun-dried tomato panini, the most amazing skin-on chips and oat milk cappuccinos. It was all really tasty and we had a lovely view of the water 😊

Pros: Always growing their range of vegan options , Very friendly service , Lovely view of the water and wildlife

A Pit stop

A convenient pick me up from a walk about around Redcar and walking around Locke park, I’m glad they offer vegan food and offer dairy free coffees to cater for us, however it’s just plain and simple, you get what you get and it’s just standard, nothing really to brag about, I got myself a vegan sausage and hash brown sandwich with tomato ketchup and the only surprise I got is that the sandwich was bigger than I expected, I did end up waiting quite a while for it as well but it wasn’t too bad, I also got myself an oat milk latte and an oat milk cappuccino for my partner and it came to about £10
Something simple to take in the lovely surroundings and lovely wildlife #Veganuary

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: A bit of a wait

Quick lunch

As I didn't have many choices I selected the vegan cheese toastie that came with some salad, which tasted nice but I felt that it was a bit plain. They still do vegan afternoon tea if you call them in advance however I haven't tried it. I wish they had a few more sandwich fillings such as vegan bacon and vegan ham or even falafel sandwiches. Price was okay but service was slow.

Pros: Good sized portions, Good value

Cons: Few vegan options , Lacks creativity, Slow service

Locke Park Cafe several vegan and dairy free options

I found they cater really well for vegans. Our family especially because I enjoy their vegan food and so do my children.

Of course I'd love them to offer even more variety and stop selling animal products all together.

Pros: Several vegan options, Vegan afternoon tea, Decking over the lake to eat and indoor.

Cons: They also sell animal products.
