Great food, freindly staff

Almost everything except for a dish with honey seemed to be vegan, staff were very friendly and were entertained by the game of charades that we ended up playing because of the language barrier. Spent around £7 on a large 2 course meal including unlimited green tea.

Very large menu to chose from. I had the hot pot with curry and tea and paid 49. It was very good and a large portion.

Good

Went twice. The vegetable curry was good. The other dishes were just OK.
The owner is a very nice lady, who speaks English.

Cons: A bit pricey

Overpriced - 70's come back.

Was near to this place and decided to go, seeing the good reviews. Upon entering, we felt like we were in a time warp, the decor, the staffs uniforms, the way food was served off a trolley, the whole aesthetic was strange.

We didn't let us put us off and we looked at the menu, which was both in Mandarin and English. The food sounded simple but there was a lot of choice.

We ordered 3 dishes to go with our rice. Two out of three we're very disappointing, very little flavour, I'm sure at least one had just been microwaved, and again, the presentation was bizarrely 70's chick.

Each dish cost between 30-40 Yuan, which is much too expensive for some overcooked veg in a plain sauce. Could get much better for much less in a side street restaurant.

The staff were attentive in a Western style way.

Pros: English menu with pictures, Nice staff

Cons: Plain food, Overpriced, Strange decor

Attentive Staff

Came for breakfast to celebrate my sister birthday. We casually mention it during ordering and the staff was sweet enough to provide a little gift. Their pumkim soup is absolutely delicious! Another occasion when we ordered take away via phone, they were considerate enough to call back and ask if we are able to takes egg. They also suggested different dish for egg free ones. Vegans rejoice! Ask for less oily and salt if you are more used to healthy food

Pros: Attentive staff, Good food

Cons: missed their dimsum breakfast now unavailable

Worth a visit

My wife and I grabbed some take-away from here on our first night in Liwan District. They have a great selection of dishes and we would happily eat here again.

Great food with English menu

We usually have a hard time getting good veggie food in Guangzhou so we were so thrilled to come across this restaurant on HappyCow. It has a very extensive menu with English translation and the owner spoke English as well so we didn’t have a hard time ordering. All the portions are quite large so it was definitely worth every cent. The food was amazing especially the beancurd skin roll. It was also pretty reasonable, we paid 148rmb for 4 dishes. Would definitely go back.

Pros: Extensive English menu, friendly staff, great food

New menu

I came here for the first time about eight months ago, and loved everything about it then. On returning this time, the menu had changed to what it was calling a 'monthly special menu' (I was eating here on Chinese New Year's Eve), but the food and the experience was equally delightful.

Perhaps to accommodate for the festivities, the restaurant had essentially tripled the number of tables for this visit, adding more in a possibly impromptu outside seating area, than there was inside the restaurant (there were no seats outside on my previous visits). Despite this, there was more than enough staff, some of whom spoke English, but all of whom were very friendly and attentive.

The speed of service wasn't hindered by the extra tables either, as the delicious food came out of the kitchen very quickly.

The menu contains both English and Chinese, as well as accurate pictures, so ordering is no problem, and the food is superb.

There's a lot of mock meats, which personally I quite like. I know that others prefer whole vegetable meals though. And for people who are so inclined, this menu is not completely redundant, but you might not find the choice too plentiful.

The beautiful decor and the dress of the staff indicates that this is certainly not a low-end restaurant. And the prices reflect that, as dining solo I paid ¥83 for a soup (¥21), dumplings (¥20) and a main dish (¥38; I assume that the other ¥4 was some kind of service charge). It was worth the money though, I really enjoyed it.

The menu has changed since I was here eight months ago, but the quality has not. This is a great restaurant.

Great classic Chinese veg restaurant

Full-size, real sit-down vegetarian restaurant, popular and crowded, yet comfortable. All of the other reviews are spot on: the restaurant is a little hard to find, the staff speaks just enough English, prices are reasonable, food is excellent and well-portioned. Definitely worth the trip. Let me add that the staff was friendly, and you get a strong sense of the restaurant and food being very authentic, based on the popularity with locals and their apparent enthusiasm.

Pros: Great food, Reasonable prices, Popular

Cons: Hard to find, Somewhat rundown, Little English

Best Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant in Guangzhou

I love this place. Finally Vege eatery with English speaking staff. Food is Awesome, cheap food. friendly staff. The best Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant in Guangzhou. Hard to find, but worth the trip.

Following is Direction from the Metro (Chen Clan Academy, Exit "D"): Walk straight for 50 metres til you see a small drive/avenue to the right, keep following the avenue, the avenue goes for like 100 metres then turn left and goes for another 100 metres and it will finally join up with massive main road, cross the road, when get to the other side, you see another mini avenue (Fu're rd). walk into the avenue till you see the restaurant (50 metres inside the avenue).

Trip is Totally worth it. Again the Best Vege eatery in the whole city.

Basic Chinese vegetarian restaurant

Stayed at a hotel close by, so I ended up visiting five times during one week. Basic Chinese vegetarian restaurant, with lots of dishes to chose between. It's a big place, but gets packed quite often. Shouldn't have to wait for a table though. Cheap.

Pros: Extensive menu, Beer, Friendly staff

Cons: Their afternoon break, Not all dishes are all that exciting

Great place

Has fabulous food - even served us beer (odd, since it's a Buddhist restaurant). Have eaten there 4 times - perfect every time. Staff speaks just enough English. Be sure to take a print out of the address in Chinese so you can ask everybody in sight where it is because it's down a little alley and you'll never find it otherwise. Nice little vegetable market in that alley as well. Has menu in English with photos!! Meal for 2 = 100RMB (with 4-5 drinks!). Going back again tonight. Bonus: it's in a very safe and lively part of Guangzhou with lots and lots of adorable little shops and bakeries. 5 stars!

Pros: price, taste, service

Cons: not located in my hometown
