Meh

Singapore is great. It's clean, it's safe, it's well organized and there's lot of vegan food available. Except for one area: Arab town. It's the only place in the city where I saw trash on the ground and where men were approaching tourists on the street trying to talk them into their restaurant. Experience learns that those are usually not the best restaurants.

Also, the waiters were rather arrogant. They clearly didn't like the fact that I was alone, nor that I didn't order any starters or (very expensive!) cocktails.

Yet, feeling hungry and being in the area for a museum I opted for "the Flying Monkey". It's in a very busy street and it looks very classy. However, it turned out there are only 3 vegan options, 2 of those are starters. My only choice for the main meal was "Impossible Keema". This is usually minced meat, but at the Flying Monkey it's minced Impossible Meat. It comes with a little bread, which is to be used to scoop.

Personally, I didn't care much for the meal. It is basically only this minced meat, no rice, no vegetables, no variation. Therefore, after the meal my stomach was full but I didn't get all the nutrients a meal should provide. Like other reviewers mentioned: the Flying Monkey isn't exactly cheap.

Pros: nice looking place

Cons: high prices, only 1 vegan main meal, arrogant waiters

Expensive but tasty food

Lots of vegetarian options. Vegan options for a lot of the dishes are clearly indicated. Few of the starters were a bit spicy.
