NW Indiana cafe with vegan options, unique drink flavors, and welcoming atmosphere

I was recently Michigan City for an impromptu overnight trip with a friend, and we discovered FLUID while searching for a local independent coffee shop.

I was happy to find they included vegan/oat milk based options on their specialty drinks menu. I tried the Lemon Love (a vegan cold brew latte with house-made lemon syrup, creamy oat milk, and cold brew). The barista kindly offered to reduce the sweetness level to my taste, and it was delicious. They had a small selection of vegan baked goods from a local bakery as well as avocado toast on the menu. I tried a vegan blueberry cinnamon bread which tasted freshly baked and went perfectly with the drink.

The cafe was open and spacious, with a wide variety of seating options. If I was a local I'd definitely frequent this location for both meeting with friends or working remotely.

Pros: Tasty vegan options, Friendly staff, 80s new wave/punk rock music vibe

Cons: Would be cool to see JUST egg on the menu!
