Flower shop to the rescue! - Edit
Tachikawa has a modern neighbourhood next to the station. Along the track of the monorail businesses, apartments, hotels and of course restaurants can be found. However, unlike a modern European neighbourhood these restaurants hardly ever have any vegan options. Here comes the flower shop to the rescue!
Read more"Flowers Bake & Ice Cream" is a flower shop combined with a restaurant. Half of the menu is vegan and while staying in Tachikawa we tried almost all of it. The main meals are vegan omurice (rice wrapped in a plant based omlet) and vegan curry. Both are of average quality, while the quality of the ingredients seems to be just below average. The pita bread with falafel is simpler, but much better in taste and quality.
By far my favourite is the acai bowl, which is rich in ingredients and makes for an excellent breakfast.
And don't forget the vegan donuts. They are not deep fried but baked, giving them a much lighter structure while rich in taste.
Pros: several vegan options, nice location, good taste
Cons: not cheap, limited opening hours

Beautiful place and good food - Edit
The place is really nice looking, full of flowers everywhere. Quite a few vegan choices including Next Meat pitas and vegan donuts, I had a Korean bulgogi style pita and sesame donut. The pita was really good but the donut was to die for!

Very beautiful place - Edit
I enjoy eating at this stylish cafe. In the lunch menu there were several vegan dishes available - I was surprised when I saw omuraisu, because I was sure that thwy wouldn't have vegan egg. But it was vegan for sure. They also had vegan donuts, which I got for free😉

Surprising spot - Edit
The concept is really cute and the flowers around the place, surrounded by crystal walls, are pretty amazing, but I wasn't expecting them to have all these food options on top of that! The clearly-labeled vegan desserts and Next Meats dishes are a breath of fresh air, since they seem to be making an actual effort instead of having "accidentally vegan" options.
Read moreThe terrace seating is really nice, overlooking the monorail tracks and the garden below. Even though my bulgogi burrito was a bit messy because of the sauce and the carrot and apple ice cream felt more like a sherbet (I don't like those much!), the price was okay.
Even though I wish they had actual pictures or wax models of all the food options, I'd give them another chance (maybe a sandwich and the almond milk shake). The self-service water was another plus.

Pros: Most of the menu is at least vegetarian, Vegan options are clearly labeled, View + terrace
Cons: Some item names are a bit misleading, Not many pics of the sweets
