One of the only options

2.5 stars because I’m comparing it to other options in the area; otherwise it would be 2 stars.
Two sandwich options looked to be vegan (not labeled such) - a chicken one, and a Bahn Mi style. A few vegan baked goods in the grab and go area. And that’s pretty much it.
I got the tofu bahn mi without the bread (it’s a $.50 upcharge to put it on lettuce.) Pretty weak. Flavors were okay, but only three small strips of tofu. Vegannaise seemed to have been a vegan swap, and that was plentiful.
The only reason I’d return is because there isn’t really much else for a vegan lunch option. Not worth the $13 otherwise.

Pros: Willing to accommodate

Cons: Not very exciting for a vegan

Not much & new location

Looks like most of the previous reviews and all of the previous photos are from the old location.
There are a couple of things on the menu that can be made vegan. Nothing is labeled “vegan” from the start.
I got the Bahn Mi as a bowl, they said their normal sauce was not vegan so included a side of veganaise. Getting it as a bowl just means it comes on a bed of lettuce.
Pretty light portion of tofu. Flavor was decent.
There are not a lot of options in Ellsworth, so for that it’s okay, but next time I’d probably skip this and head to Mothers about 20 minutes away on MDI

Pros: Nice indoor seating area.

Cons: Very meager vegan options

Friendly and helpful

They made me a Banh Mi at 7:30 in the morning 😍 with tofu and veganaise. The avocado toast can being made on Rye sourdough or whole-grain bread without butter. They also have soy, almond or oat milk to make your Coffee or tea vegan

Pros: When I ordered no mayo they offered veganaise, they pointed out that the Avo toast had butter

Just be careful if vegan

Use caution when ordering food as staff is not knowledgeable and seem unwilling to assist vegan diets. I ordered the banh mi sandwich as it is described on Happy Cow, but asked if it would be vegan without the mayo (not knowing what else is on it). I was told something like "yeah the bread is probably vegan" without being offered to confirm, the person seemed very annoyed and this was after me trying to confirm which soups, if any, were vegan so I just went with it since Happy Cow listed it. It also came out with a side that I wasn't expecting, I ate it as it seemed likely but no clue if it was vegan for sure. The soup board is very confusing, there were 4 or 5, but none had a label next to them, I noticed the bottom right corner had different colors for written words - vegan, vegetarian, and whatever term they had for other. Was surprised the clam chowder had the color paired with vegan so I wanted to clarify if the color scheme was how the soups were written, but she responded that no it wasn't, wasn't even sure if the vegetable based soup was vegan, and said something like 'I don't think we even labeled the soups today' so I'm guessing they just wrote the soups with random colors and typically label them but didn't. My mom who is vegetarian, ordered the likely vegan soup, when she was eating it, asked a random nearby employee if they knew it was vegan and she said 'yeah' and then I heard her go ask a co-worker. Why didn't she say she wasn't sure or would be right back?! Ugh...They weren't even busy so I don't see why the employees could have been a bit more helpful. FYI Nearby store sells delicious whoopie pies, which some are vegan!

Pros: quick food

Cons: unknowledgeable staff, Not clearly labeled vegan options

Excellent atmosphere

We stopped in for dessert to Flexit with already-full bellies, otherwise I would have liked to sample a salad or wrap. While the vegan options do not abound, they are clearly marked, and very good quality. The cafe vibe was very welcoming and enjoyable, and the owners are committed to providing a pleasant experience accessible to any dining needs. This is a great place for a mixed group meal, or anyone looking for good quality food and ambiance.

Pros: Vegan options marked & excellent quality, Accommodating & knowledgeable staff, Clean, bright, open & comfortable space

Cons: Most of the menu is non-veg

Labor Day lunch

Stop on my way home for some lunch and was presently surprised by the menu selection, which included 2 meatless choices for the weekly specials; a grilled zucchini Panini and garden burger both served with an orzo salad. I had the black bean garden burger that was very good. I also had a cappuccino and blueberry muffin which were very good as well, especially since native wild blueberries are in season this time of year. Service as a bit slow, but it was Labor Day and other restaurants in the area were closed. Definitely would go back.

Pros: good choices and portions, great homemade baked goods, coffee shop serving a good variety

Cons: limited outdoor seating, limited vegan options

Delicious road trip stop!

Traveling through Ellsworth and found this restaurant on the app... Super cute! Delicious juices & smoothies! Vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten free options! I'm vegan, and my mom has a dairy & gluten allergy and the staff was VERY accommodating and helped us find something for everyone! If I lived locally I would defiantly come back here more often!

Pros: juice bar!, fun desserts!, easily adaptable to vegan/ gluten free

Cons: more meat options than vegetarian
