Heaven!!

Where do a vegan, a celiac and an omnivore go for a late night snack in Barcelona? Here! We were seated around 11pm. The whole menu at this Flax & Kale is gluten-free! I had the "oyster & caviar" followed by the dumplings and both were divine. They also have a vegan wine for €5.95/glass and my non-vegan friends tasted it and ordered the same! They loved their dishes and the vibe as much as me and everyone else in there!!

Pros: Excellent food, Nice vibe, Varied & unique menu

Cons: Pricey but worth it

Sin lugar a duda el mejor restaurante!!!

Bueno es el paraíso en mi paladar, para mí el mejor sitio para comer y probar nuevos sabores opciones varias vegetariana, vegana y flexitariana. Kale chips es imperdonable si no las pides.

Pros: Realmente flipante, Exquisito

Cons: El staff a veces un poquito despistado.

Posh vibe, good symbol system

Really easy to navigate their extensive menue. Plant based optiones are marked clearly (as is gluten free, raw alternatives etc). Not the friendliness staff though, felt I overstayed my welcome by eating slowly. Expensive for barcelona standards, but gorgeous place. Perfect for a lunch date.

Delicious pizzas

I've been several times here and they have very delicious vegan pizzas, I tried most of them. I also tried also other stuff from their very interesdting and original menu, like the dosa experience, smoothies, soups, pierogies, their "cheddar" kale and many more.

The place has a fancy atmosphere and it's really clean and the waiters are very nice.

Everything on their menu is gluten free.

This place would have a 5***** rating from me if they wouldn't serve fish.

Great vegan food and friendly service

I visited this restaurant with non-vegan friends, and they thought their pulled pork was real pork! The jackfruit was really really good, and so where all the other dishes. We also enjoyed the flatbread and the dumplings! Really nice waiters as well, so definitely a new favourite place in Barcelona!!

Pros: Tasty food, Trick you non-vegan friends :), Price

Matcha Point

Hundreds of thousands in capital must’ve been spent on converting this huge space into the gorgeous setting that is another branch of the fkexitarian arm of the Teresa Carles Empire. Possibly even a bit more plush than the F&K on Tallers. We only had a couple of deliciously thick and green matcha lattes at €3.50 by the window. Epic place. The vegan options are excellent and it’s open late too which always helps.

Pros: Grand interior , Vegan options , Great location

I would give it 5 stars

I had a ‘my Japanese girlfriend’ bowl with bbq jackfruit and scrambled tofu! It was so good and the umami flavors was incredible! It tasted beyond amazing!
Try one of their kombuchas to your meal!

Pros: Almost everything is vegan , My Japanese girlfriend bowl , Many creative dishes

Cons: Expensive , Serves fish

Nice food but read the menu carefully

I ordered the scrambled eggs with feta whilst my partner ordered the coconut bacon bagel. Alongside a latte and a bottle of water our order came to 24 Euros.

In terms of the food itself, it tasted great - my partner couldn't stop raving about the coconut bacon - but the portion sizes left a lot to be desired. Maybe it's a cultural thing but in the UK we're used to big, hearty breakfasts and this was almost a snack rather than something that would set you up for the day.

Inside, the restaurant is very well put together and 'pretty' with a number of cool stations such as a kombucha lab. I can imagine that this is a really atmospheric place to come for dinner in the evening. The staff were also good, speaking English when it was obvious we were struggling, and also talking us through the different plant-based milk options.

Finally, if you are vegan or vegetarian, I would recommend reading the menu very carefully. Some of the items in the menu read as vegan/veggie friendly and then you realise they've thrown an anchovy in, which I did find a little bizarre.

Pros: Lots of choice, Tasty food, Very hip and aesthetically pleasing interior

Cons: Lots of fish in the food, easy to misread, Small portion sizes considering the cost

Amazing chocolate cake

I visited a few times. I don’t recommend their açai bowls (takes way to long to make) or bagel. I do recommend their pizzas (amazing), chocolate cake & smoothies (you eat it with a spoon like ice cream). This is definitely the best location of F&K, a lot more choices on the menu.

Pros: Smoothies amazing , Vegan cheese Pizza , Bakery desserts

Cons: Açai bowls

A bit disappointing

The place was nice but the food was pretencious and actually quite sickly because the flavours were too rich. The menu was difficult to understand because it wasn't laid out well and it made it difficult to choose- sounds silly but if u go you will understand. Also it was pretty expensive considering we only went for a lunch not an evening meal

Pros: Nice place, Air con

Cons: Flavours too strong , Expensive, Fish on menu- not even veggie

Great Food

We went here multiple times during our week long trip. Breakfast, snacks and dinner. Nothing ever disappointed either! Their vegan croissant is so incredible!! You can tell all the food is freshly made in house. Very nice restaurant and great a/c. Staff is friendly! Majority of the menu is plant based but they have a few options for those meat eaters! So everyone is happy! Would def give it 5 stars if Happy Cow let me on this non vegan place. :)

Would give it a 5 star if i had the option

Great atmosphere, amazing food and friendly staff. Absolutely favorite restaurant with an impressive menu. The pizza’s were delicious, the vegan oysters were very special, house made kombucha is great. The blue mojito one is like a healthy version of an actual mojito. Would recommend the 4 cheese pizza and the vegan japanese bowl but honestly can’t go wrong with anything in this place

Pros: Unique menu items, Great atmosphere, Great food

Asian Spanish fusion food worth every penny!

Flax & Kale was on top of my 'restaurants to visit while in Barcelona' -list, and I'm so glad it didn't disappoint me! It was a difficult choice between the three locations but I chose the Flax & Kale at Passage because of their Asian Fusion kitchen.

I was having lunch by myself but I never felt 'alone' - the staff was kind and open to answer all my questions on their food (philosophy). After a long debate how many things I can taste (eating-alone-problems!), I ordered the ‘BBQ pulled pork’ bao & Korean chef lost in the Pyrenées (suggestion from the waiter). The bao had a great balance of soft and crunchy textures, and the 'bbq pulled pork' made from jackfruit was one of the best ones I have had. The second dish, Korean chef lost in the Pyrenées, really was the reason why I came to eat at Flax & Kale in the first place - that dish was an intriguing combination of Korean & Spanish cuisines! I almost doubted myself whether I ordered a fully vegan dish because the 'bacon' made from young coconut had such a chevy & fatty texture.

For me, the whole experience was definitely worth the money! Their food is perfect for sharing, and that was the only downside of my visit; I wish I could have shared this experience with my bf!

Pros: Creative cuisine, Worth every penny, Perfect for sharing

Save your money

I've been 3 times. First one with friends and we weren't like because the vegetal milk they prepare themselves was sour. It can happen but it was the first impression. Anyway, we come back again and the girl in the reception was rude, unfriendly and not very good professional. In fact we decide to quit because of her before taking a table.
The third time I went with a friend who wanted to try. We sat to have a smoothie and it wasn't good enough. For this price, I prefer to go to other places.

Pros: Very nice place

Cons: Service, Price, Products

We had avocado toast and it was very good. Then we tried some sweet options (like cinemon roll and raw chocolate) which were all delicious. They offer a varity of plant based milk.

Fancy food options - too expensive

Mostly vegetarian gluten free restaurant with fish and allergens clearly labelled. Located in a chic industrial/loft style place with open kitchen. The food was very tasty, could have been a little spicier in some cases and the portions a bit bigger for the price. Finally the cake tasted a little too "healthy" for me personally. Really friendly staff!

Pros: fancy menus, home made smoothies

Cons: expensive, small portions
