Ramsgate Favourite - Edit
This has to be my favourite place to eat in Ramsgate. It is really nice inside and they had a high chair for our daughter. The menu only labels vegetarian dishes rather than vegan but they do list allergens and the waiters seemed to have very good knowledge of what was vegan; most things that were veg were. I was also really happy to find masala dosas on the menu as southern Indian dishes tend to be a bit rarer than typical north Indian food such as curries.
Read moreWe were given lentil balls on arrival which we were told were vegan, as were the little cups of lentil soup we were given between starter and main.
The food was good value, generously portioned and very tasty and flavourful. Our only qualm was that the curry did not have the spiciness that we would have liked (as requested) even though the masala dosa definitely did have a kick. The dishes were still very good though and we will definitely go back.
Makes a good place for a special occasion or just romantic night out.

A level above the standard curry house - Edit
The food here is absolutely delicious - the flavours pop in every dish. The Singhara (spiced mashed potato in pastry - almost similar to a samosa) was excellent as a starter, and the tamarind and date chutney they served it with was really punchy. Would also strongly recommend the aubergine mash - quite a unique dish but really soft and flavourful.

Great vegan dishes - Edit
There is nothing vegan on the menu but the staff are very knowledgeable and will tell you which dishes can be adapted. They even brought little vegan amuse-bouche dishes that we were able to eat. Very impressed

Best for Vegan Curries in Ramsgate - Edit
Food is good but what I find really impressive is the waiters knowledge of exactly what is and isn’t vegan. Beautiful soups served between courses and onion bhajis to die for.

The best! - Edit
Kumars is by far the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. It is a little pricey but worth every penny and the staff are amazing. I can't rate the place highly enough!

The very very best - Edit
I have never ever in my life eaten at an Indian restaurant so good as this one. In fact, they ruined all the other Indian restaurants for me. This place is amazing, very friendly staff, they treat you so nicely. They gave us little aperitifs in-between the courses and all vegan. They even made special naan bread for us and they made sure we were happy throughout the whole evening. The taste of the food was so good, every bite was like an explosion of flavours. Sophisticated and very well presented as if we were at a 5-star restaurant. You HAVE to try dinner here!

Beautiful Flavours - Edit
A really good find for vegetarians with clearly marked options.
Read moreThe name of this restaurant is apt as its all about the flavours with Chef Kumar bringing cuisine from different parts of the Indian sub-continent.
The vegetarian interim courses were a welcome surprise and it was interesting to be able to see the kitchen at work from where we were sitting - all remarkably calm in such a busy restaurant. The staff were efficient and friendly.
The restaurant itself seems to be set in an old pub and had a very good atmosphere on the night we visited.
Special mention for the Gobi Kempu and the Punjabi Dall Tadka but all the vegetarian options we selected were amazing.
Pros: Different to your usual Indian restaurant, Superb flavours, Clearly marked vegetarian options
Cons: Not fully vegetarian, Would otherwise be 5 star!
