I expected more flavor - Edit
I ordered the injera bowl with lentils, collard greens and eggplant and a side of nyoyo (corn and beans). From the reviews I expected a lot more flavor. The lentils were pretty bland and the tomato sauce for the eggplant had some good flavor but the eggplant in it was bland (might be better as leftovers?). The collard greens were fine but not as flavorful as the ones I get at Ethiopian places back home in Seattle. Maybe these are a different style? The nyoyo was okay but again, not that flavorful apart from saltiness. The injera at least was good, and it’s also a lot of food for pretty good price, but not sure I would revisit here.
Read moreEdit: The leftovers were better the next day, especially the nyoyo.

Consistent quality & bomb passionfruit drank - Edit
I usually just go for a side of the plantains and a passionfruit drink when I need a snack during the day; the lentils, eggplant, and collard greens are my next three favorites. Not the biggest fan of the Ugali/grain choices is why I opt out of getting the meal plates
Read morePros: Real passionfruit , Perfectly cooked plantains
Cons: Grain choices aren’t my taste palate

So flavorful! - Edit
I actually haven’t gone to the restaurants yet, but I got to try their vegan dishes as the Hillcrest Farmers Markets, on Sundays 9a-2p. I got half and half coconut rice and wali rice (saffron rice with carrots and potatoes) with 3 vegan sides: collard greens, biringanya (eggplant in spicy tomato based sauce) and fried plantains. It was all so delicious! And I had plenty left over for a second meal. I loved that they had multiple vegan side options. Highly recommend! #Veganuary

Love the jungle fries here! Very tasty. The lentils are so so so good. One of the few places that doesn’t make me feel left out when I eat here with non vegans

The food is just delicious. My boyfriend and I had curry lentils, fried plantains and coconut rice, but there were multiple other vegan options/combinations. I highly recommend this place.

Best lunch buffet in the area. - Edit
The buffet does have meat; but, plenty of vegetarian options, too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The flavors remind me of more 'authentic' Indian food. This is a must if you are in the area.
Read moreThe buffet is a little pricey for a vegetarian. But, they are also serving meat, which cost more.
Pros: The atmosphere is nice and comfortable.
Cons: It's a little pricey for the buffet.

Delicious vegan options - Edit
I love coming here for the buffet. They always have vegan options. Coconut lentils, eggplant stew, three types of rice. They have incredible collard greens that I could eat a pound of. Their gingerize drinks are fresh squeezed and delicious. Try mixing them!

Great food, not the same old stuff - Edit
Very happy to have found this restaurant! Fabulous flavors and many vegan choices. Portions are ample. So nice to have tasty vegan food at a good price that is different from the usual fare. We really like that the vegan choices are genuine ... not vegan versions of non-vegan food but true non-meat dishes. Excellent service and a welcoming staff. Easy street parking.

Flavorful East African Food - Edit
Only have been to their food cart in Ocean Beach on Wednesday’s. Wow, it is amazing, and they have the long line to prove it. Get the Samosas...you want the samosas.
