Great place to stop in for a quick bite. You make up your own bowl. They have grilled tofu, collard greens, brown rice and the spicy coconut sauce is great.

I’m driving through Missoula so I’m so glad I did not miss this place! My bowl was so delicious and one of the most nutritious meals you can expect to find at any restaurant. Brown rice, roasted veggies, black beans, and the roasted tofu was divine. Even collard greens. Yumm!

Five on Black was and should continue to be a staple for all vegans looking for a fast vegan option while hopping around the downtown bars or distilleries. They provide a base or two types of rice or rice with beans, your choice of protein (vegan option is grilled beets and sweet potato,) collard greens or black beans and a choice of three sauces. Once you've finished combing your bowl, add some spicy coconut or mango barbecue sauce (both are vegan). It has a decent sized interior, seems fairly clean, but perhaps a bit noisy for a serious dinner outing. They food, though rapidly prepared, doesn't lack taste or portion. A great meal if you're in a rush or craving a fast Brazilian dish.

I went here again recently, and they seem to have improved their flavors. I got brown rice, root vegetables, sweet potatoes, and coconut curry sauce and it was delicious and even a little spicy! The staff reiterated that all non-meat items except cheesy bread are vegan, which is great. There were three vegan sauces (all sauces are vegan), and there are also natural soda drinks available. I think this place has improved, and I'll be back soon!

Most people in United States I think associate Brazilian restaurants with lots and lots of meat. The guy who develop this place (three locations in Montana and two in Denver) has really found a fabulous combination of possibilities. Yes, the carnivores can get their chicken and beef and even tilapia, but this is also an unexpected vegan and vegetarian treasure. Except for anything with cheese, anytime they cook something with “milk“ it is Coconut milk. They are very conscientious about providing vegetarian and vegan proteins, and the mix and match possibilities are almost endless. Really healthy fresh food. I can’t speak more highly about this place.

Fresh and delish. It's a vegan space that also has meat. Pick your bowl ingredients. Server was super friendly and set me up with two sauces (I couldn't decide). Mango or spicy coconut, who could choose? Toppings are roasted cassava plus a great chimmichurri among loads else. Big bowl was under 8 bucks. And it was BIG. Cool vibe, sweet tunes.

When I was going to the U, you could find me here most nights for dinner! They have GREAT prices and the best food! I would always drag my friends here until they asked ME to go! It's "Chipotle" style... Only better. Wish I was still in Zootown so I could still come here!
