Amazing options for vegans! - Edit
The restaurant at Atremaru Jungle retreat has many wonderful options for vegans, including a dedicated vegan menu and vegan options for breakfast! I would recommend you consider staying here if you plan to travel to the island of Palawan - the resort is very eco-friendly, beautiful and cheap, with private hiking trails, a private beach, and spacious rooms.
Read moreBut onto the food -they have some of the best food we ate during our entire trip to Palawan! The eggplant pizza is amazing, with a rich red sauce, grilled eggplant, and olive oil. They make an amazing vegan adobo out of vegetables and tofu, as well as outstanding vegan curry and vegan spring rolls . For the free breakfast they made special vegan pancakes out of bananas for me! They even has a vegan dessert - bananas in a coconut caramel syrup! All the food was delicious and beautifully presented.
They were extremely accommodating towards vegans. Given the limited vegan options in the area, we are very happy we stayed at Atremaru! You would have to check the hours if you are not a guest at the resort (they are very responsive to Facebook Messenger).
Pros: Dedicated vegan options, Food is top-quality, Very acommodating and friendly staff
Cons: No syrup for pancakes (just honey)
