Yum - you can call up to skip the queue - Edit
The tofu burger was yum. The falafel burger was okay. The bread is so nice. Typical local chip shop style bread/ freshly baked rolls as opposed to brioche roll, you’d get at a franchised burger place, which I think is much nicer.
Read moreI’d recommend getting the tofu burger with extra tofu and ask for a side of the BBQ sauce (or other sauce) to add to the burger. Also pro tip: you can call up and order and skip the queue. It takes about 20-30 mins so just order over the phone before you go.

Not worth the wait - Edit
Tofu Burger was really underwhelming and it’s not worth waiting or being in that chaos

Not sure what the hype is about - Edit
Nice burgers but not sure why it’s so popular. So many other options available in Queenstown.

Not worth trying - Edit
I had tofu burger and chips. The food is very average. Nothing exceptional.
Read moreIt's just a fast food place. Nothing tastes fresh.
Tofu was oily and not tasted good with thick coating coming off as if it was old.
Tomatoes tasted old.
Cons: Not fresh, Average food, It's not worth lining up in a queue.

Great chips, burger only ok - Edit
Wouldn't go and wait in line again. Had the tofu burger over 10 years ago and loved it. Today it was just average, I think my standards are higher now :D

Surprised it met the hype! - Edit
Was shocked I enjoyed this burger as much as I did. Went when the line wasn’t long and would recommend that. I wouldn’t recommend if the line is down the block but was really good option.

Huge wait but worth it - Edit
Low in terms of veggie options tbh, but what we did have was amazing! One falafel burger and a tofu burger. When my husband dragged me here and I checked the menu, I wasn't super impressed, but the food really made up for it!
Read moreHuge wait, but we did go on New Year's Eve which was probably the issue! Although they were giving out free cookie pieces in the queue, which was a nice touch. Recommend, but check the queue before if you can!
Pros: Amazing burgers
Cons: Limited options

Worth it - Edit
Just go get a burger here like everyone else OK? It's busy for a reason. 2x veg burgers (one tofu, one falafel), both clearly labelled as able to be made vegan and staff clued up when asked to make them so. Massive hefty portions for a decent price, very tasty toothsome burgers, and a fun experience queuing up with what feels like every other tourist in QT!

Cons: Can get v busy at peak times/season

Dry and tasteless - Edit
The vegan burgers are just the veggie ones with all the sauces removed. Over hyped and one of the worst burgers I've had (I've tried both of the vegan options)

Choice of Tofu or falafel - Edit
I was a bit underwhelmed at the burger options, tofu or falafel (unfortunately I'm not a falafel fan) I was hoping they had a vegan faux meat burger like a beyond or something but I was pleasantly suprised with the tofu burger.
Read moreThe burger is hugee, and fully loaded, tofu is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, flavours are great together. We got chips too but couldn't eat them all.
I probably wouldn't line up for a long time but if the line is short its worth a try.
Pros: Big servings
Cons: Menu - unfriendly vegan terms (e.g. bambi burg), Stupidly busy

Their burgers are very good, simple yet delicious. Only downside is that it can get very busy but otherwise it's still worth the try.

Tofu satay burger - Edit
I ordered the tofu satay burger which, as the first non-dehydrated meal after a three day hike, was delicious. The batter is crunchy with the tofu interior smooth, making for a nice texture. Highly recommend.

Time your visit well! - Edit
These guys can do some tasty vegan options. The tofu satay is good, and the vegetarian ones can be veganised.
Read moreIf you're a little earlier than the 'usual' meal time the wait isn't as bad, but the wait time to order, and get the order, is just down to a bit of luck on the day really.
Pros: Tasty options, albeit a bit pricey, Great service
Cons: They need more vegan options :), Removing item(s) but paying the same :/

Holier than Thou - Edit
Tofu burger is great - be sure to ask for it to be vegan: staff are very aware of what that means
Read morePros: Easy vegan options, Tempura tofu not oily as you might expect, Support vegan options (every bit helps)
Cons: Probably 99.9% of their business is not vegan…

very good service - Edit
This place is always super busy so be prepared to wait. I had the vegan falafel burger. Later realised I was given the other vegan option on the menu (which is tofu / satay). I went back and the service was fantastic in sorting this out. I was just relieved I was not given a non-vegan burger by accident! Advise to take the burger round the corner and eat it lakeside.

Awesome Burgers! - Edit
I tried both vegan burgers; one with tempura tofu and the other falafel. Both were super delicious. Ferg definitely know what they’re doing when it comes to making burgers. Just remember to ask for the veggie burgers to be vegan.
