Well, that was probably the best meal of my life - Edit
I’d heard of Feral’s reputation as one of the best vegan spots in Portland, but I wasn’t prepared for just how good it all is.
Read moreEvery item on the menu (my group tried nearly everything, lol) was delicious and stood out with a unique flavor profile. The drinks and desserts were creative and so tasty. The vibes inside the restaurant were lovely, too: it all had a thoughtful and inviting feeling without any pretense.
I’ve been vegan for more than a decade and, honestly, this was maybe the best dinner out I’ve ever had. Truly amazing. We’re so lucky to have this place here in Portland.
Pros: Dynamic, seasonal menu, Complex flavors across uniformly delicious dishes, Wonderful, kind staff

Exquisite dining experience - Edit
We loved everything about Feral. My non-veg husband was so impressed and we were both satisfied with our shared plates and drinks. Don't leave without dessert.

elevated dishes - Edit
this was my first time at feral, very nice atmosphere and kind staff. The location is very cute and the options are diverse and tasty. Do not skip dessert—the crème brûlée was fabina. My table got the grape toast, tofu skewer (our favorite), ricotta cavatli, crème brûlée (dessert favorite), and cheesecake.

Best restaurant ever! - Edit
Everything is delicious and fresh. We’ve been here maybe a dozen times this summer, for dinner and brunch, and almost every meal has blown our socks off (the singular exception being the coffee at brunch, which is just okay for someone who prefers a 70:30 ratio with oatmilk). The non-alcoholic cocktails are INCREDIBLE! The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, but without being too self-important. Best for smaller parties - might be okay with a large (6 ) crowd if you plan ahead and reserve. Walk ins for 1-2 people are easy - we’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes without a reservation… though we usually go late (and they might run out of some dishes). The people are such a delight and service is top notch. Can’t recommend enough!

Absolutely go here!!! - Edit
The ambiance is a fun amount of elegance without feeling fussy or stuffy, the people working there are super nice and helpful, and OMG the FOOD is just mind-blowing. The cocktails were excellent, too. We went for a special dinner and were so impressed with every dish we had! We had the Bread & Tomato salad; the Berries, Beets, and Basil; the Chilled & Salted Cucumbers with Ajo Blanco; the Fettuccine with Eggplant & Chestnut Mushroom; and the Raspberry Butterscotch Scoop. We wanted to try the creme brulee, but unfortunately they ran out. The dessert we had was great, though. We loved this place so much that we recently returned for their brunch! The brunch did not disappoint. We had the Deep Fried French Toast, the New Potato Hash, and the Summer Benedict. It was all incredibly good, especially the benedict. I feel like this place should be winning awards with how delicious, creative, and unique everything is.

90 minute seating for party of 2 - Edit
There is fine print after you make a reservation stating that the reservation reserves a seat at a table for 90 minutes only. I missed this caveat and we weren’t told while we leisurely ordered our food that we would have to give up the table. Don’t dawdle!! Order your food as quickly as you can. You are at the mercy of the server and kitchen how long it takes the food to come out, and you only have 90 minutes.
Read moreThe experience felt like it came to an abrupt end (when we tried to order a 4th dish and were told, to my surprise, we only had 12 minutes left at the table) to what had been a beautiful evening with wonderful food.
Don’t dawdle!!
Pros: Finer dining experience , Creative dishes with local ingredients
Cons: Communication (tell guest when seated time limit)

Delicious but pricey - Edit
Food menu wasn't big (maybe around 15 items total including four desserts), but what we had—cucumber salad with white gazpacho, tofu skewers, chanterelle polenta, lion's mane mushrooms—were all very good and came in decent portions. Can't comment on the drinks because we only had water, but the menu was extensive. Our bill came to $93 for the four dishes we had sans drinks, which I thought was a little expensive.

Delicious food with amazing staff - Edit
We came here for dinner. We had the potato dumplings and the pasta. Both dishes were incredibly delicious. So many different tastes playing together, it was a culinary experience we appreciated. The staff was very welcoming and fun to banter with. We're looking forward to our next time here.

If you see this soon, order the cavatelli and get dessert. So delicious. They change their menu seasonally, so they’re always creating new dishes around what’s available. Will definitely be back if I’m ever in Portland again.

Best anniversary dinner! - Edit
My partner and I went to Feral to celebrate our anniversary, and I cannot recommend it enough! The food was scrumptious and the staff were SO kind. You can tell that the staff are all working together to make this spot the best it can be. I'll definitely be back, but be warned: you will have a very hard time choosing what you want to eat and may feel internal pressure to get the whole menu!

Fabulous and one of a kind - Edit
We’ve been to Feral twice, once for dinner and once for a special brunch event, and both times we had a memorable, delicious meal. It is unlike anything else in Portland with thoughtful, playful dishes. Whether it’s a fancy occasion or a dinner with friends, I highly recommend Feral. My personal favorite is the chips n dip but I’m from Minnesota so of course I love vegan dip!! Mocktails and the alcohol offerings are a 10/10 as well!!

Best meal in Portland! - Edit
What an incredible dining experience! I’ve had some really good vegan meals in Portland, but nothing came close to this meal. The lions mane mushroom was the best. The fennel au gratin was insanely delicious and the roasted parsnips were perfect. The drinks are no less amazing. Can’t wait to go back again and again.

Wow, Amazing! - Edit
Decided to try Feral the other night, and was blown away! Everything on the menu looked both seasonal and delicious. Decided to start with the Cape Canary cocktail (pictured - tequila, banana liquor, apple, rosemary, cinnamon) and it was… *chef’s kiss* perfection.
Read moreFor dinner, we went with braised leeks (it was very reminiscent of a spinach artichoke gratin), hot fried tofu sandwich, and masa dumplings with grilled maitake mushrooms. And damn… I was blown away!

Love love love!!! - Edit
Snowdrift cocktail is like Christmas in a glass, wow, yum! Rich Mahogany also simply amazing flavors! Hot Toddy is delicious. We tried the French onion Dip and it is nicely flavored. Fried Kimchi is the unhealthiest way to eat kimchi, but delectable nonetheless. Snack plate has a perfect variety of tasty treats. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu.

Locally-Grown Delectable Delights - Edit
I used to work with August at Harvest at the Bindery (RIP) and then both him and Ryan at Fermenter. They have taken the brilliance of those places with their deep appreciation of the quality of locally grown produce and made something brilliant. If you love rich umami flavors, combinations of ingredients you’ve never imagined, and palpable passion in your food craft, Feral is for you.

We got a variety of plates and drinks. Everything was fantastic, there were some surprising flavors and interesting combinations. The steak fries were awesome, the mushrooms tasted like steak. Loved the piccata, the breading was killer. Excited to come back and see what's new.

Delicious! - Edit
We tried out Feral tonight. The place is very cute with a bit of a rustic vibe. We started with the fried green tomatoes. These were fried wedges instead of the usual slices which I didn’t think worked as well (lots of very hot tomatoes juice) but they were yummy. For dinner we got an order of the seitan piccata which was really fantastic and the beans and bread which was so satisfying! We will definitely come back!
