Good food

Solid variety although what was marked as vegan might not have been really vegan, hard to say. Generous portions. Good flavors. They were out of the mac n cheese 😕

Super cute and good food

There was a whole separate vegan/vegetarian menu and the staff was very knowledgeable. They also brought out a box of toys for the kids to play with while we waited for food. Everyone requested to go back the next day but they were closed.

Hit or miss on having vegan options

First few times I went in 2021 were badass. Literally always have options and didn’t up the price for being vegan. Then something shifted. Now there’s never much of anything actually there for vegan options. Which makes me sad asf. Everytime we try to come now there’s never anything vegan. I’m fine to pay the price for the vegan tax if it’s worth it. It’s not worth it for me anymore here. Which I hate to say bc I love fat boys and love vegan comfort food.

Pros: When they had actual inventory food was bomb asf.

Cons: No options on most times

Staff too busy/distracted

Unfortunately on my last two visits I have been served a different item than I ordered. This time I was given a meat burger instead of the vegan Mac and cheese burger I ordered.

Pros: Tasty food, Nice porch

Cons: A bit pricy, Wrong meal given, Did not have vegan options listed in stock

Fantastic! One of my favorites.

If you haven't been here you are truly missing a fantabulous dining experience. Food is original, fresh, huge and highly addictive. The Hubs is star struck by their smokehouse burger and my their street tacos. Never had a bad meal and we always have leftovers for lunch the next day. The service is spectacular and friendly and they now serve beer. Check out their facebook page and read the menu and peruse the pictures, you can thank me later. Maybe with some tacos?😄Enjoy!
Note: They have moved to 8210 Apison Pike in Ooltewa

Good vegan comfort food

Separate vegan menu of chili dogs and burgers. They have impossible burgers and vegan mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was creamy and smooth with no artificial vegan cheese taste. The jackfruit is smoked to perfection. They must put the vegan meats in a smoker. The smoked flavor is throughout the entire vegan meat. Everything was delicious. The portions are large. The restaurant is decorated with bright colors and art work. The staff were very helpful.

Appropriately named restaurant

Solid vegan menu with several options. The food was amazing. I had the chili cheese dog (massive!) and my husband had the impossible Mac and cheese burger. We both really enjoyed our food.

It's actually named Fat Boys as their first Harley Davidson bike was a Fab Boy. Took the family back today. Just as huge & fantabulous as ever! A fantastic diner with incredible food and they are hiring right now. Pays cash weekly.

I can’t explain my disappointment enough

I drove from Murfeesboro, TN, for my wife and I anniversary to try something new. The place looks decent (the area did not), but it gives it a sense of authenticity. The menu looked promising and we went for the impossible burgers in different variations, side of mac n cheese and steak nachos. When we got our orders, the first thing that happened is that a random cat sat next to us scaring my family away. It looked territorial and did not want to leave. My son tells me it was taking its teeth out at him like in a threatening way. No one seemed to care that we had to eat with a cat with us at the table. Then we get to the food. The mac and cheese I tried first and had to spew it out of my mouth immediately because it tasted like pure chemicals and like it was expired. I immediately took it back and they said they would look into it. There first explanation was that there spices are strong so that might be it. I knew it wasn’t it but I accepted the excuse. I sat and tried to enjoy the rest of the meal. The burgers were ok, even though they served tater tots when the menu said it comes with fries. The side sauces was ok even though I know the infamous ketchup/mayo sauce a mile a way. Then the nachos was the kicker. The cheese for the nachos was just sliced cheese cut up in rectangular shape. To make matters worst, I noticed that the taste of the cheese they used seemed familiar. Taste like chemicals? Unnatural yellow color? It doesn’t melt? You guessed it. Daiya cheese: every vegan in the world first mistake. Then, to put the icing on the cake, bwhen we finished, I went to the register to ask them if they figured out why the mac n cheese was so bad. They said these words exactly “we made a batch October 2nd (it was Oct 15), and we use all the ingredients on that one so we can’t pinpoint if there was an ingredient that was expired. Sorry”. Let that sink in for a bit. A batch of artificial cheese stored for almost 2 weeks and they can’t pinpoint why it was bad? Now, sit down for this one. After they said sorry, I was waiting for at least the mention of courteous refund. None was mentioned. Just awkward silence. As I walked away, I heard someone in the back of the kitchen shout “aren’t you going to give them a refund?” Or something alongs those lines. Then, I was called to receive the refund, which to me was minimal thing to do. Absolutely, undoubtedly, I will not visit this place again. I gave my family some water with charcoal before bed to wash it all away

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Daiya cheese, No pet control, Poor food quality control

DESERVES 5 STARS!

Wow, where do I start, fat boys is simply outstanding. The owner is actually vegan so that's comforting. They have a FULL vegan menu, like more options than some all vegan restaurants. This is the restaurant you bring a meat eater too if you're trying to convince them to go vegan. The food is straight up vegan comfort food, baked potatoes as big as your head! Vegan philly cheese steaks, burgers, tacos and MORE! If you haven't been, get in your car and go now! They have outdoor seating which is great for Covid times... And they have plenty of parking. I can't recommend fat boys enough.

Pros: Full vegan menu, Large parking lot

I'm addicted to their food. Fish tacos for me and smokehouse burger for the Hubs. Did you know they just moved to 8210 Apison Pike? They open up at the new place tomorrow. Can't wait!

Great comfort food

Really glad to see these kinds of options at place kind of remote. If the owners ever see this, I hope they know how much it’s appreciated. Not far from work so I’ll be back for sure!

Pros: Good prices, Good sides, Yummy comfort food

Cons: It’s not healthy but this could be a pro too

Great Vegan Options!!

This place was a great surprise! It is just a small roadside place, you order outside and can eat inside if you prefer. I visited around Thanksgiving and was able to get a special item, the Thanksgiving burrito. It was really flavorful and delicious. My dinner companions got the Philly Cheesesteak and Impossible Burger. We all thought the food was amazing. Is it healthy, no, but I didn’t think it was going to be when I went there. If you’re looking for delicious vegan junk food and a fun atmosphere, this is your place!!

Great options for delicious unhealthy vegan food

I had the vegan philly with fries, my son had the impossible burger with vegan Macncheese, and we ordered the vegan okra for the table. Food was delicious and fresh. Artery clogging goodness that I crave every now and then.

Pros: Separate vegetarian/vegan menu, Indoor/outdoor seating, Large portions

Cons: Little pricey

Delicious comfort food

The food here is very greasy but if you have a certain vegan craving this is the place to go! My fiancé and I had the vegan mac and cheese, the philly cheese steak and the Reuben and we would definitely come back for more!

Great veggie options

First, if you are looking for healthy raw veggie options... um...no.

Fat Boys is known for large quantities of food (the Philly Cheese Steak is bigger than my head), mainly diner type fare. We have enjoyed the vegan chicken tacos, the vegan cheese steaks, varieties of Impossible Burgers, Burritos, Chicken Wraps, Mac-N-Cheese, and more.

Most dishes come with vegan sauces, vegan sour cream.

Note, be careful to specify vegan on each item when ordering.

Pros: Tons of food. We can eat for 3 days, Good service, Vegan Cheese Steak!

Cons: Also sells meat dishes and dairy so use care.
