Organic produce. Organic hot sauce. Costa Rican cuisine isn't spicy enough for me🔥

Great selections! - Edit
Soo many fresh fruits and veggies. Joe’s vegan food has a pop up here with breakfast and lunch options. I tried the chocolate croissant. It was lovely.

Delicious cacao treats made by the local indigenous community💕 - Edit
Browsing the art market is super fun and when we went in November 2022 there was a stand with different cacao treats wrapped in banana leaves, all vegan of course, different flavour options, local and sustainable and made by the local indigenous community.

Every Saturday. By far the best place to get... - Edit
Be sure to stick to the right side only. These are the organic sellers. If confused just ask. This is by far the best place in Puerto Viejo to buy your organic produce. There is also a stall that sells homemade/baked vegan food and another that sells a small variety of ‘super foods’. Definitely worth a visit.

slice of local life, and vegetarian options! - Edit
The farmers' market is the best place to mingle with the locals and find out what life is actually like in Puerto Viejo.
Read moreLocally grown and organic produce; fair trade coffee and chocolate; hand baked turmeric bread; tempeh, kombucha and dried organic fruits; local crafts; organic beauty products and vegetarian tamales to go! This small very local market has everything you might want for your stay whether it be for the weekend, or for a few months. Every saturday, downtown 7am to 10am.
Pros: local food, organic food, local culture
Cons: early Saturday morning
