Great vegan options!

I love to come here for a Saturday brunch. The Two Crumpeteers does a great vegan version of a full English breakfast (with their own seitan bacon). Two Dumb Vegans does great vegan baked goods (cinnamon buns, etc.). You can find dairy alternatives at the coffee stand. There are other vegan options at various vendors too (for hot food, there’s a Caribbean place and a Middle Eastern place that definitely have vegan options). Vegan ice cream (and sometimes baked goods) from Common Confections. Local tofu and other vegan ingredients from Acadiana soy, plus obviously vegetables for days available here. There are definitely meat products around, and I wish I didn’t have to literally stand right next to butchers stand to order a vegan meal, but the food is good enough that I’ll do it!

Disappointed

There are 3 sections to this market, the first two are a bit dark, dingy and kinda creepy. But the final area is really cool. Tucked inside walls of the Alexander Keiths Brewery. Historical, interesting and charming in its old way. The market itself was very disappointing to me. Not a whole lot offered to vegans other than some fresh produce, a small case with Acadiana tofu and some baked bread that could possibly be vegan. Big Life also has their large booth setup who has all vegan baked goods. Nothing to really get excited for as a vegan but the building itself is worth a visit.

Pros: Cool location

Cons: Not a lot vegan
