Just before Madang Korean restaurant, this is a cart buffet parked in a driveway with two tables of covered outdoor seating. Look for the red "vegetarian" character on a white, rectangular sign or ask for "Tienfoo". Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-8:00pm. Lunch only.

Worth the Trip, as Long as They're Open

A unique vegan buffet dining experience on the western edge of downtown, I'll have to update the name of this place when I can read more Thai. Unfortunately, I've biked out there only to find it closed a few times, on different days. Generally best odds on Saturdays and weekdays. The lady on duty doesn't speak much English, but the selection is nice and the portions generous. Always a spicy curry option and lots of green and other veggies. Maybe a little less fake meat than other buffets, for better or worse depending on your preference. She'll keep your glass full of icewater under the umbrellas at the picnic tables in the driveway, and locals stop by regularly to get theirs to-go. An interesting place to sit and eat while you take in the outdoors and watch the geckos crawl over everything. I always get three dishes for 50 Baht, and the rotation of dishes means rarely eating the same one twice.

Pros: Large portions for good value, flavorful, Lots of fresh, green vegetables, Outdoor dining in the cool shade

Cons: Irregular hours, Location kinda far from the center of town

The actual location is much farther west, past where the two main commercial streets downtown go over a small bridge.
