Big, big fan! - Edit
In a neighborhood with seemingly at least one falafel/shwarma joint on every block, it is hard to stand out which is exactly what Falafelkælderen has achieved (even in their basement location no less!). The homemade falafel are among the best I have ever had. The homemade sauces (the hot red sauce, the green tangy sauce and especially the fabulous garlicky tahini creme sauce generously slathered twice over my sandwich) are also stand outs, so much so that we bought a jar of one of them to bring home. Our sandwiches have been so big and so jam packed that one sandwich easily does me for two meals. The service is always friendly and patient and the place, with its small seating area, always seems to be packed! Contrary to the hostile reviewer below, prices here reflect above all, a) way above standard quality and products made in house, and b) across the board inflation everywhere in Denmark, on falafels and everything else. I prefer to pay a bit more for the excellent quality, uniquely tasty homemade products, friendly, familiar service and generous portions here at the "Falafel Cellar" and for the friendly, neighborly atmosphere of this small family run business. Don't listen to the naysayers! All the stars in my book.

Prices on classic pita has gone up 67%(!!!) since our last visit, which admittedly was before this whole inflation debacle, but still completely out of order. The classic durum has gone up 50%…
Read moreI respected the owner and staff of this place for their kind disposition, great foods and affordable prices. Not to mention our solidarity with their fight against bourgeois gentrification in an area not to long ago mostly characterized by multi ethnicity, laisse faire lifestyles and nørrebroish ambience.
To see this place playing the game of ripping off the rich in the neighborhood, fine, but to let the rest of us low income people pay this kind of money for a meal is a goddamn betrayal.
Pros: Great taste, Friendly service, Amazing chili

If you cant afford to eat someplace, don’t go there. People are eating out a lot less frequently after corona, and profit margins are low industry wide due to increased costs. If you can’t afford to eat out in general, don’t eat out and especially don’t give negative reviews based on your inability or want to pay.

In fact, who the f are you to guard places from bad reviews in the first place..? People disagree, grow up.

Best falafel in town! - Edit
The most interesting and tasty falafel durum in town. My favorite is no. 2 with tahini dressing. Try their green chili. Wow! It’s my favorite durum place by far - copenhagen native here 🧡

I had a falafel durum with tahini dressing, and it was amazing! The falafels are made by the owner right in front of you, and the veggies are fresh.
