The best falafel in Taipei

The best and probably only truly authentic falafel in Taipei. Served with beetroot and pickles

Great Vegetarian Falafel Restaurant

Vegetarian and vegan falafel choices. Great tasting falafels, good portion sizes and not too pricey. Limited menu, nice puddings. Well worth the visit for tasty falafels. Now reopened in new location.

Best Falafel Place in Taipei

Have been a regular at this place over the past two years, I just noticed that I never gave them a review. And seeing that one skeptical review below was the reason to finally write one myself now.

Taste
Being from Germany, I may not be the most suitable person to judge, but imho this is the best and most authentic falafel there currently is in Taipei, and possibly Taiwan.
Since last year, they now have two falafel flavours, "original" and "ginger fennel". As for the toppings, the pita comes with lettuce, cucumber, carrot, and beet root, the latter being something you will hardly get in other places here, plus hummus and something which I believe may be garlic sauce (so not at all like pico de gallo salsa like claimed below).

Portion size
I always eat a whole pita, and have had times where I would order an extra half pita directly afterwards. Having said that, I am probably a bad example since I am always eating a lot, and most people I know say they are full after eating the half pita, so I you are usually full from Taiwanese portions, go for the half pita. If you are big and/ or like big portions, go for the whole one (and if you should still be hungry, you can always order more afterwards anyway😉).

Location
The place is small, but has a nice atmosphere, often playing reggae. One can also enjoy deserts (pudding with either rose-pistachio or date-walnut flavour), and sometimes a small choice of beers or other drinks. The falafel, hummus, pudding etc. are all made freshly in-house, and you can often watch the owner prepare the next batch.

Summary
Def a recommendation for anybody who likes falafel, who wants to try something new, or just does not want to eat Taiwanese food every day.

Pros: Great CP ratio (good taste+big portion+ok prize)

Cute shop! Inexpensive, small selection, almost entirely vegan

Almost entirely vegan besides their eggplant egg pita sandwich. I am part Greek and a Mediterranean food freak and this is quite possibly the best falafel and pita sandwich I’ve ever had. I think they have falafel lunch boxes and a couple of desserts. They also serve hummus too! Very small restaurant (2 tables and 3-4 bar stools) and I think they serve a small selection of alcohol too. Very intimate and cool space, as the kitchen is right next to you, and you get to see everything get made. The large falafel sandwich was 200.

Meh

I’ve had their falafel pita a few times and it’s only okay. The falafel itself is not bad but the toppings aren’t quite right since they only add some shredded lettuce, hummus, and some tomato sauce that’s sort of like a pico de gallo salsa. Just underwhelming.

Pros: Big portion size

Best falafel pita

This is easily the best falafel pita I've ever had, I really recommend getting the large one because it's huge and fills you for so long and it's packed full with delicious falafel, lots of veggies and hummus. I went here 3 times while I was in Taipei because I loved it so much! They have loyalty cards so if you go with a friend a few times you can get a discount😄

Yummi

I really like the falafel. Its a small shop, but the price is okay! If u are into middle-eastern food (or maybe a bit tired of asian food) give it a try!
