Not so good

We had the vegan bowl: soy protein, edamame, rice, red cabbage, carrots and spicy cream. Pretty expensive.

Not worth the money

For a chain that claims to serve healthy and sustainable food, the range of vegan options is actually very limited. The one type of vegan sandwich that was available tasted rather bland and it was tiny.

- - -
Verschillende vegan opties zoals saladebowls, belegde broodjes, chiapudding… Het smakenpalet bij EXKi is vernieuwend en eens iets anders dan bijvoorbeeld Panos. Jammer genoeg is alles geprijsd aan schandalig dure luchthavenprijzen. Gelukkig waren het broodje en de salade lekker!

Pros: Specialer smakenpalet, meerdere vegan opties

Cons: Zeer dure luchthavenprijzen

Great, healthy options

Small place with a good amount of vegan options both savoury and sweet, hot or cold. Reasonably priced for an airport, filling, fast & tasty!

Nice vegan options at Airport

Good to have some vegan options at BRU, where the supply is actually too low. But it is fine to grab some vegan packages before or after your flight. I ordered a vegan salade, falafel/ couscous bowl, apricot chia dessert and ginger beer.

Pros: Some vegan options, tasty,, Next to check in counter

Cons: Bit expensive, empty shelves

Good options ... for an airport

It's a fact that it really sucks to be a vegan in most airports.. at AMS for example the best option is probably the Vegan burger at BK... in LIS you might get a soggy wrap in Go Natural.. the big exception being LAX.. where you can go to Real Food Daily and have a very good meal.

But let's focus on BRU and the fact that they have EXKi at the airport.. it's a better option than in most places, so even though I've rated other EXKi locations with 3*, I need to give 4* to this one because it's just convenient and you are able to eat somehow decent food in an airport.

Pros: Convenient at the Airport

Convenient spot in Brussels airport

I think places like this one can be handy, it's not uncommon to struggle with finding vegan options at airports. Here you can find smoothies, salads, hot drinks and vegan desserts, on the go. Quality is ok.

Good fresh food, considering it's an airport

Several vegan salads, all looking quite fresh I paid 8.80 euro for a medium sized. Staff doesn't speak English, which I found strange. I think is barely OK price for an airport. It is however better than many other meat-only airports.

Pros: Several vegan option, Good quality food

Cons: Expensive , No seating

Just tasteless salad

Had a little overpriced pot of lentils and other bits and it was like time travelling to 1998 when that was all vegans ate.

Small, expensive and bland

We had an extremely overpriced sandwich that could be finished in a few bites and an expensive salad that was tasteless with a solidified sauce on the side of it. It's okay if you need something quick that's clearly labelled vegan.

Pros: All vegan options are clearly labelled

Cons: Expensive, Small portions

Great but not inexpensive

Paid 10 USD for 300 grams of food. I had a hummus, broccoli, rice, edamame bowl and it was very tasty. Everything in the case looked fresh and there were a bunch of clearly labeled vegan options.

Not enough vegan options.

Saw 3 Exki restaurants at the airport

- smaller one at entrance of the departure hall (in front of the check in rows)
- a larger one in the departure hall (left of the check in rows)
- a smaller one at the start of terminal B

Was expecting to at least find a vegan sandwich at the larger one in the departure hall, but helas :-/ So we had some falafels and salads.

Did find a vegan labelled sandwich at the smaller one at the beginning of terminal B (at the gates).

The food was nice. But it would also be nice if EXKI pays more attention to waiste reduction. So much plastic ...

Wanted to take some photos of the food options in the fridge, but was stopped by an Exki employee and prohibited from taking any further photos. I asked whether it was bc of airport security (but I don't see how taking photos of salads would jeopardize that in any way). But the answer was that it is a general rule in ALL EXKI restaurants that no photos are allowed. WUT? :-O

Pros: at least we found something vegan

Cons: not enough vegan options , no photos allowed of all EXKI? , too much waiste

Airport restaurant with some vegan options

It is definitely not my preferred restaurant, now in an airport, especially after security (there are also 2 before security slightly bigger), you have to take what you get.

From that point of view, the vegan options they propose, should be a must have in all airport restaurants, now that is not the case.

Therefor this is really a great start, I hope it gains some popularity with these vegan options, will extend it and will inspire other airport restaurants as well.

Everything that is vegan, is well indicated, and labels also the ingredients.

Pros: Good vegan food for airport, Great initiative

Cons: It stays close to a traditional airport restaurant

not too many options and not good ones

It always saddens me when all this places try and appeal to vegans in the worst possible way, there is a lot more to vegan food than salads... all the baguettes have meat or fish (there is a hummus baguette with tuna)
They do a falafel wrap for close to ten euros, so as always healthy food is taxed more than anything that's gross and bad for you
So it's going to be a crust of bread and a soup, will not be trying this chain again

Very few vegan options

This small chain of "bio/natural" foods stores offers a selection of baked sweets, sandwiches, soups and salads. Also offers tea/coffee (cow or soy milk options). The food items are colour coded to help easily ID gluten free, lactose free, bio, vegie or vegan. There's a plentiful selection of non veg and veg items but the only vegan items I saw were a couple of small side salads such as tabule. Happy to see a place like this available in an airport but I'd hardly recommend it for vegans (hence my 2 star rating).

Pros: Nice to see conscious food concept at airport

Cons: Not enough vegan options
