The food is divine. Recipes are unique and so flavourful with every bite that you want to eat slowly and savour; local ingredients that make it even better. The service is great with EJ who is so sweet. Atmosphere is classy with jazz music playing.

Don’t get the pizza! - Edit
We ordered three pizzas to celebrate my grandparents’ anniversary and they were barely edible. The cheese was heaped on and the kind from when I went vegan 5 years ago that sticks in your mouth and clogs you up. The vegan meat was Yves brand and the crust was chewy and bland. As a vegan advocate trying to turn my grandparents vegan, this pushed them the other direction. It was also quite pricy for the quality. I hope Eve Olive takes the pizzas off their menu because they do them no favours and turn people interested in veganism away from it.

Vegan Nanaimo bar - Edit
Definitely wanted a vegan Nanaimo bar during my trip to Nanaimo - Eve Olive has them. The square was big and yummy although it was a little pricey ($9). Satisfied my craving! Didn’t try anything else just got the bar to go but the menu looks yummy (again, pricey).

We were lucky to be there on a Wednesday so l had the special offer of 3 courses and a glass of prosecco. I had the caesar salad, coconut curry and lemon tart which were all very good and tasty. Only slight downside was the salad was a bit light on croutons but it was nice and fresh tasting. My companions had the oyster mushroom calamari, BBQ pizza and BBQ burger which they also enjoyed.

A great dining experience. Patio was very nice… soft music playing, very sweet and attentive server. She let our little dogs hang out on the patio with us 😊 the inside appeared very tidy and minimalistic… the bathroom was super clean and smelled great 😌 highly recommend the rosé ravioli and Nanaimo bar with an iced coffee 😋 the food had a beautiful presentation too 👏🏼😺

Well, what can I say about Eve Olive? There aren’t enough words to describe such an amazing place! From the out of the way location ( always a good sign) to the wonderful host and server( thanks Nicole) to the incredible food. We were greeted like friends and treated the same throughout our visit. The Oyster Mushroom Kalamari was wonderfully crisp and the Sweet Potato Ravioli was delightful. My Penne was the creamiest I’ve had, as a new plant based eater! Desert was decadent and yummy but not heavy, indeed nothing was heavy but delicious and light. I would highly recommend eating here.. We will be back.

Unplanned lunchtime in Nanaimo, surprise opportunity to return to the oasis of Eve Olive. Once again wonderful food and delightful company, I know I brought them with me. We feasted well on oyster calamari, cauliflower whisky bites, steak sandwich, Greek salad and the lightly spiced creamy ravioli. Pudding of course to complement this delicious meal. Now I’m looking for an excuse to visit Nanaimo more often at lunch time.

The food was AMAZING! I started with the calamari and a Dirty Shirley cocktail, and then had the house-made ravioli for my main. So flavorful! And the accompanying bread was outstanding. I couldn’t decide among the desserts, so I ate the lemon tart there, and took home the Nanaimo bar and chocolate chip cookie. Eve Olive definitely has the best vegan Nanaimo bar! The server was friendly and happy to make awesome recommendations. I will definitely be back next time I’m on the Island.

Hubby had chicken souvlaki and enjoyed it. He couldn’t even finish it all as just big portions.
We took the chocolate cake home and had it the next day. Very decadent and dense but was delicious with raspberry sauce.
Service was excellent, 2 ladies that served us where extremely friendly and service was quick. Would definitely go back.

Just Past New Year's Eve at Eve Olive - Edit
A group of us ate here on our way through Nanaimo on January 2, 2023 and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and ambience. The Oyster Mushroom Kalamari and Greek Goddess Plate were delicious for shared starters and disappeared quickly. The Sweet Potato Rose Ravioli was rich in flavor as well as texture without being "heavy". The food is fresh, the portions generous and the atmosphere elegant yet cozy. It is now on our list as a go-to when on the Island.

Read moreOn our first visit (we definitely will be back) we shared the Crispy BBQ Cauliflower Bites. We liked the crunch from the beer batter. If you love BBQ sauce, this is loaded. The accompanying ranch sauce was delicious.
My husband ordered the Very Good Butchers’ Burger with their Cajun Potato Fries. Loaded and delicious burger, unique and flavour-packed fries.
I ordered Sweet Potato Rosé Ravioli. I could have eaten that sauce on a shoe it was so dang good.
For dessert we shared their feature dessert, Carrot Cake, which was also delicious with nice texture.
The server was very friendly to us and the others at tables near us, checking in just enough to make sure all was well or if we needed anything else.
The food came quite quickly from the kitchen.
While we were enjoying our meal, we both said we need to bring friends here including non-vegans. It will completely surprise them to find such delicious and well prepared plant based food. We notice they also are very aware of offering gluten-free options for many of the items.
Only one minor negative is poor quality wine selection although good craft beer choices.
Highly recommended whether you are vegan, gluten-free, or not.

Eve Olive is a casual, 100% plant-based restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu offers appetizers, salads, various entrees (pizza, burgers, pasta, as well as Greek and Thai dishes), dessert, and lots of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I tried the Greek Goddess Plate - the highlight was the very lemony oyster mushroom calamari with honorable mention to the house-made feta.
