Nice vegan place in a sea of non-vegan places - Edit
This place is in Hakata Station, near the shops close to the Shinkansen tracks. So many vegan bentos and onigiri to choose from. I got a bento set of 9 pieces, and blindly grabbed an onigiri that turned out to be (I think) vegan chicken and mayo, it was delicious. Everything was labeled as vegan so I didn’t have to worry. The food was just what I needed after a long trip into the country from Korea and I ate it on the Shinkansen to Hiroshima. I would absolutely go back!

Great to be able to grab for the train - Edit
I got two boxes plus a sweet potato bagel, the bagel was one of the best things I've eaten in Japan! The nicest things in the boxes was anything deep-fried! Cakes were good. I would have liked more descriptions of what the boxes contained! They weren't even written in Japanese. The box needs to be kept flat or things will fall apart! My partner had a muffin which he enjoyed.

Vegan bento - Edit
It was great to find this vegan bento place at Hakata Station! They have a wide range of options, clearly labelled as vegan. They have both big and small bento as well as savoury and sweets snacks such as Nigiri, Wraps and cakes.

Tasty bento - Edit
It is a very nice shop selling vegan bento. So handy to have a vegan food box for a long ride to Tokyo. The food is tasty and just right for my flavour. Not salty at all coz I'm a plain eater. I just wish they would have use another method of packing instead of plastic. Apparently it's a global problem, not only in Japan.

Very affordable Bento boxes and wraps - Edit
Lovely vegan bento box we purchased was great, 9 different foods within it which allowed us to try a few different things. The rice balls were a little lacking however I have had no rice balls wow me in a month in Japan thus far. However we also got a vegan wrap here which was incredibly delicious. We plan on going back to get more if these as they were so cheap. Staff were also nice in the quick transaction. Only negative is trying to find it in the busy station but this also makes it great for snacks between transits.

Good onigiri - Edit
Didn’t have much time so what I’ve got was two flavors of onigiri- Takana and Ume. Both of them were good. Would love to try their bento. It’s on the first floor, located near Mister Donut .

Great bento - Edit
If you look at it just from the perspective that it's a bento, then its very good. It sucks that it's cold but that is what it is. If you look at it as a normal meal, it really doesn't hold up to be honest.

Vegan to-go food! - Edit
I'm so grateful for this place, as Hakata area doesn't have many vegan options. The prices are great ~ 5-6 USD per set, and the food is delicious.

Top notch vegan bentō - Edit
It's not often you find a shop selling vegan ekiben, but this place does them exclusively, and they're good at what they do.

Best ever! 10/5 stars - Edit
Ok, let me start with that Fukuoka doesn’t have much advertised vegan food out of this “tourist center”. Fine. I understand I’m overseas… but in the major train station, they have grab and go bento meals! Best thing ever! I’m literally going to youtube this because it’s not well enough known. Grab vegan food, visit your tourist sites, eat well! Amazing! Enjoy you’re trip 💖

Good vegan food, good prices - Edit
I buy a few things here every time I am in Hakata train station. Everything has always been really good. Prices are reasonable. Mostly traditional bentos but vegan, also onigiri and once they had a really good bagel with awesome vegan cream cheese. A few cookies too. Not hard to find exactly but the shopping area is vast, so a couple of times I had to ask for directions at the information desk. Basically down two sets of stairs from the Shinkansen or one set of stairs from the regular JR platform area, in the part of the mall where there are a lot of similar small food shops/stalls. You don’t need to go outside the train station or into the multilevel buildings nearby, it’s in a kind of department store area with a food court area, next to/just below the trains and in the same building as the train station. It has a sign in English that says Macrobiotic.

A little bit not easy to find the first time as the food streets are so overwhelming. Happy to see they are still here after the pandemic. Locate right across Mister Donut which is a good indication.

This is what every train station in Japan needs! An all vegan bento counter with a huge variety of bento boxes at very reasonable prices!
Read moreWe arrived at the Fukuoka airport around noon and took the train just two stops away to JR Hakata station. We picked up three bento boxes and a muffin, and we walked over to a park nearby for lunch, before exploring the rest of Fukuoka. Everything was delicious, and it was such a delight to be able to have fully vegan Japanese-style bento and enjoy the sun outside!

Delicious and reasonably priced - Edit
I was just so happy to find a vegan bento stand in the station that its existence alone would have been enough to keep me coming back. However, the bento I had was excellent, with a variety of tasty items. I need to figure out a good way to get to the rice underneath before eating all the tasty items on top, though. (It is separated by a plastic sheet to keep it from absorbing things and getting soggy.)
