Some local food, all organic

Serving soups, bowls, stews …all organic, mostly vegan and veggie. Had “Hüllerchen” which seems a local thing made of potatoes with salad and sour cream. Nice place to sit and watch.

Nice breakfast options

Sweet café with non-dairy milk options for their breakfasts. The server asked which type of milk I wanted before I mentioned it.

Good place

I had the soup here, and it was very good. I found the staff very helpful to me. There is not much to say--the menu for vegans and vegetarians is limited, but fine and no complaints

Pros: Healthy

Cons: Limited

Nice

We enjoyed a large vegetarian soup (serves two people willing to share a bowl) with a little lentil salad. Nice fresh food with subtle flavours. You can have as much bread as you like to go with it. Nice for a quick break, or somewhere to warm up in the winter.

Pros: Fresh food, Reasonable prices

Good food

Estragon is located in a quiet spot in Weimar, and shares space with an organic shop carrying a good deal of interesting products. It serves only salads and soups, and although the choice is not large, we found some adequate vegan options. The service, however, was appalling. At first we were simply ignored, and when we finally managed to grab their attention, we received an extremely rude reaction to our attempt (in German - not my mother tongue) to clarify whether a specific soup was vegan (this coming from the cook, who was sitting at the bar chatting with the server). Such a shame, because the soup was good, but they should realize that it is ok for people to want to know what's in their food.

Nice little place in Weimar

This was a welcome find in Weimar, which is not loaded with vegetarian restaurants of any kind. It is strictly soups and salads, but the soups were delicious and good portions. There are always two vegetarian soups (out of four), clearly marked, and a host of salads. On the days we visited, there was always a vegan soup. It comes with free bread (as much as you like). This was also one of only two places we found in all of Weimar with soy milk available for coffee.

Pros: delicious soup, friendly staff, soy milk
