Serves meat, vegan options available. Ethiopian cuisine with some vegetarian/vegan dishes. Can get combination platter. Open Tue-Sun 11:00am-10:00pm.
Closed Mon.
We ordered 2 veggie combos but probably should have only gotten one. There was way to much food! We took the leftovers home and had more than enough for another meal. (We recommend mixing it all up with injera and heating it in a skillet) Everything was good, but their shiro wot and the potato dish (not sure the name) were the stars here. Their misir wot was a little sweeter than I like.
Possibly best non-vegan restaurant in Seattle - Edit
First five dishes on the menu are fully vegan, including the veggie platter which includes samples of most of the others.
Servings are huge. I could hardly eat half mine even after working up an appetite biking there. Two people could easily share a plate for a medium-light meal. At under $20, that's almost unheard of in Seattle.
It's tied with Cafe Turko for my favorite non-vegan restaurant in Seattle. It's that good.
I loved the Vegetarian Combination with all my favorite Ethiopian foods done right. Flavorful spicing, not 'hot'. It came with an extra injeera and huge portions. The cabbage and potatoes had some over-sized pieces of potatoes.
Both times I have been here, the service has been slow. This time I ordered ahead for take-out, which was ready a half-hour after it was promised and there was a sizeable crowd of people waiting for take out/delivery.
We have both eaten in and ordered from Enat several times and the food is great and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about veganism. We've never had something where it wasn't clear and the space is nice, though simple. My favorite Ethiopian style food on the east side.
