Not good - Edit
Ordered the jackfruit sandwich, the jackfruit was inedible. I don’t think it was cooked at all let alone properly, and it was completely unseasoned. The accompanying potato wedges were undercooked. Very disappointing

Enamoreish (ish) - Edit
Nice outdoor cafe shaded around a tree, with vegan milk and dishes.
Read moreFM tried vegan versions of traditional Mayan dishes which was fun but they did lack spice / seasoning.
Would give 3.5 if we could.

Worth a try - Edit
So there I was, chomping down on my jackfruit sandwich wondering where on earth they had found 4" pieces of jackfruit and why my wife's sandwich had cabbage in it when we realized that the waiter had mixed up our orders. Now, I'm not known to eat slowly, so I was almost halfway through what turned out to be my wife's meal before either of us figured this out, so we ended up each eating half of two different sandwiches - the jackfruit one and the eggplant one. The sandwiches were decently-sized and tasty; only get the jackfruit one if you really like cabbage, as the cabbage features prominently.
Read moreThe photos were taken before I started in, which may seem hard to believe, but it's true - we each received exactly three potato wedges. Now, true, that was three each, but still about half a dozen fewer than one might expect. Fortunately, they were tasty (though a little oilier than some might prefer).
The smoothie was a bit of a disappointment - there was nothing smooth about it. It was more like a 7-Eleven Slurpee, and therefore undrinkable until it melted. I did tackle mine with a spoon, but I was hoping for something I could drink. My wife's was drinkable from the start.
As others have reported, expect a few bugs in the outdoor dining area. Oh, and avoid touching the picnic tables - the paint comes off readily in small chips that will stick to every sweaty part of you.

Great quick meal option! - Edit
Stopped in for some quick breakfast before heading out and they really impressed! We had the flautas, vegan pan dulce, and a latte with macadamia milk and all was fantastic! Vegetarian and vegan options are explicitly labeled (someone said they labeled eggs as vegan but it’s clearly labeled vegetarian, vegan options are labeled separately), and staff is knowledgeable on vegan diet vs veggie. Friendly service and reasonably priced. Will be back!

A good spot! - Edit
I really enjoyed lunch here today. They have lots of clearly marked vegan options. There was some wonderful live music happening and the vibe is chill. I had the jackfruit Chilaquiles and they were delish. Nothing bad to say about it other than the service time and getting the check took longer than was acceptable for me. But it’s a laid back place. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry.

Nice atmosphere - Edit
I had hummus toast for $95 and added coffee and fruit of the day with $60. For vegan milk for coffee I had to pay $12. Cowmilk would have been for free.

Amazing vibe in Centro bacalar. Lots of vegan options and cool people. There’s even live music and a local art shop. They have vegan chilaquiles, but it was so-so.

I had the flautas ahogadas and blueberry smoothie. They were both nice. The smoothie was more like a juice though.

Don't bother - Edit
The omelettes marked as vegan! Ok if you want breakfast as there are a couple of breakfast things. When I asked the waiter what was vegan he didn't seem to know..said the hummus might be....but bread might contain milk. Didn't trust anything from there so left.

Only the menu is a bit irritating, because some omelettes are marked as vegan etc :D

Cute cafe - Edit
Small cafe close to the Zocalo. I was disappointed, because dishes were wrongly labelled as vegan on the menu. The staff was not very helpfull and prices high. But still, the smoothies were delicous and my boyfriend really liked his sandwich.

Nice little cafe - Edit
With some vegan options - I actually didn’t check the whole menu because I was just looking for a snack. I can recommend the vegan cookie “galleta vegana” and the mango-cardamom smoothie!
