gave me non vegan burger - Edit

vegan empanadas were amazing but I ordered a vegan burger and I don’t know if it was the cheese or the meat but I got violently ill. please double check with them that they gave you the right thing!

A VEGETARIAN OPTION.... BUT JUST AN OPTION - Edit

In a nutshell:
A busy restaurant that is best suited for groups that are not demanding or for people looking for an alternative to Latin dishes without the "spiciness and flavor of authentic cuisine"... yes, that's a read!

GOOD
Although "seated promptly" in a relatively busy Thursday afternoon, the actual table was still dirty from the previous patrons... after tired of standing up waiting for someone to clean it up I do sit, and after seating for awhile (all of this while there are employees around doing nothing but chatting) finally the waiter showed up and had to both clean the table and take the order no busboys anywhere in sight.

The waiter was a very nice lady that did the best she could being overwhelmed being serving either too many tables and/or the slow kitchen staff and non-supportive busboy service. She saved this restaurant from a flat out 2 stars (she got a free margarita that a client turned down and come on' that's a whole).

Where to begin, after the "good" session warm up... the more successful a restaurant becomes the more demand and ability to keep standards is critical. Besides the waiting time and cleanliness I did have a problem have someone sit next to me with a dog indoors! Nowhere in the restaurant says pets are allowed inside or otherwise and although I'm an animal lover I do not want to have a stranger's dog and whatever he picks up from the super dirty NYC streets near my food, is just no.

After I told the waiter I was going to switch seats and sit outside (The guy, his partner I guess and the infamous dog decide to also switch seats but this time at the window facing directly to me... GREAT). The frozen margarita wasn't bad, perhaps B.B.Q. does better flavored frozen margaritas in this category, I was just hoping for something better than your standard pre made frozen margaritas flavor. Besides the lukewarm yucca and plantains sides which weren't even salted, the veggie empanada (not shown) lack all flavor, it needs to be seasoned if is not going to have salt. I was pretty much underwhelmed with the lack of flavor and vegan options considering the high demand of vegetarian and vegan consumers in that area of the city. The place is too loud and distracting to get work done, this place is best geared for groups but even then I wouldn't set my bar too high if you want service and flavor to match demand.

Pros: Location, Better for large groups

Cons: Limited vegan options, Unseasoned dishes, no flavor

A tourist grab and go - Edit

It wasn’t quick but after we visited a pizza joint what had no vegan Slices sometimes needs must. They had three vegan empanadas which we took one of each.
