Small portions - Edit
The food was good but the portions were quite small for the price and I left hungry after two plates, disappointed!

Delicious food - Edit
We visited Elnecot for a weekend brunch, when everywhere was busy and booked out. They had loads of outdoor seating and the staff were very accommodating. I ordered the shakshuka - I’ve never tried the dish before, but I am completely sold after trying their version of it! Food was a little slow as they were so busy, otherwise everything was great.

Excellent brunch - Edit
I had the vegan English. The sausages, hash browns and the black pudding were all excellent. We also got the bottomless drinks option and I particularly loved the earl greyhound cocktail. They were very generous with the drinks too. Such good value for money!

One of my fave restaurants in Manchester - Edit
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester. The ambience is great, good range of wines and drinks, good range of vegan options. Really delicious food.
Read moreI’m knocking a star off not only cos they serve meat, but if you sit towards the back you can smell it from the open kitchen 😰 Also, as much as a support the gender neutral toilets, there always seems to be wee on the floors and I wonder prefer one where that isn’t the case.
Pros: Delicious vegan options , Nice drinks! , Great ambience
Cons: Meat stinking from open kitchen , Toilets can sometimes be messy, Cold by the door

Amazing food - Edit
I’ve had breakfast and dinner here a few times and both are exceptional. I couldn’t rate the food highly enough. There’s lot of vegan choices. Everything tastes great. It’s not the cheapest but it's also really not expensive. Given the standard of the food it's really good value.
Read moreWhen it first opened, the service was a bit slow and...odd. As if the staff were trying too hard and weren't naturally good at their jobs. But it's improved a lot and I really can't fault the service now. It's friendly and they do well even when packed.
I don't think I could fault it now and would give it 5/5 if I could

Creative, fantastic flavours! - Edit
Broad vegan range in their newly released menu.
Read moreSimple, great quality ingredients put together to create comforting food with distinct flavours.
Highlights: heavenly, creamy vegan focaccia; wild mushroom and barley balls; cabbage steak
Wish I could rate 5 as they are increasing more vegan.
Last but not least, prices are great, especially side dishes.
Altogether a very much up and coming place, so better visit soon! 😊
Pros: Good vegan range, Great quality ingredients , Confident original flavours
Cons: Not important but could have more vegan mains

Great food any time of day - Edit
The food here is fantastic. I've had breakfast and dinner here and both were incredible. It's one of those places where they've clearly put a lot of thought into their dishes and used veg really creatively. I definitely recommend the disco cabbage, which more than lives up to its name. It's on the pricier side of things but the food is so good it feels reasonable for a treat.

Great vegan small plates!! - Edit
They have a wide range of vegan small plates & vegetarian dishes that are labelled if they have a vegan alternative. The food is SO good!

Fabulous Vegan Options - Edit
I have been to Elnecot several times since it opened just over a year ago and I love the whole experience. It is in Ancoats an up and coming area of Manchester and is a cool bar and restaurant offering great vegan options. I have been for brunch of cauliflower and chickpea hash, with tahini dressing, eaten most of the other dishes including disco cabbage, the most amazing cabbage dish ever, Jerusalem artichokes with parsley pesto, thyme fries, squash houmous with sourdough, wild mushroom & pearl barley arancini and plum cake. There are many vegan wines on the wine list which staff can advise you of, although it would be nice for them to be labelled to make it easier. Chef Michael can certainly cook and his dishes are creative and totally scrumptious. I have my eye on their Sunday nut roast with all the trimmings, which I have heard rave reviews about.
