No more vegan option. - Edit
They got rid of the machine to make the soft serve. They said sometimes they have sorbet. Not today though.

need more vegan flavors - Edit
Vegan soft serve is such a rare find for me and they have it at the historic Capital Street location BUT each time i've went it has just tasted really plain. I tried the chocolate, vanilla and a fruit flavor and they were all just meh. They haven't had vegan scoop ice cream when i've went. Also staff at this location each time i've gone hasn't been the friendliest.
Read moreThe building location itself is great u can grab a cone and walk the beautiful downtown Capital Street then visit the independent bookstore across the street or get vegan pizza at Pies and Pints or walk just two more blocks to the Loopy Leaf all vegan restaurant.
Another drawback is especially in summer this place should be open until 10pm instead it closes so early.
Note I also went to the Ellen's in the Capital Market (farmers market by the expressway) and that location sadly had NO vegan flavors at all. Had very friendly staff though who knew all about vegan items.

Not many options - Edit
No vegan cones available, and the one flavor they had (soft serve) had run out. Not really worth waiting in line, but they were friendly at least!

Almond milk froyo?!? Yum - Edit
Another surprise here in Charleston! Not only do they serve almond milk froyo (vanilla, chocolate, or swirl), but they also have vegan and gluten free food options for their daily specials. The staff was super accommodating and helpful answering questions. No matter what the weather, this place is worth an ice cream visit!

Good food here - Edit
I've been once so far and hope to return a couple of more times before I continue on my trip. I found the food to be good and the prices are reasonable. They update their menu every week on their website so you know what the specials of the day are. As of October 2021 they don't have any tables inside but there are several tables outside in the open air. Right in the middle of a historic business district in downtown Charleston. Don't miss it when you're in town. Keep in mind that they have different business hours between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Check their latest schedule on the website.
