Great vegan options

They have a fully vegan tasting meny that I will try at another time. This time I picked four warm dishes and one cold. The size was good, the taste was magic. I had a non alcohol drink with lime and mint.

Pros: The warm welcome and humor of the staff, Delicious food , Nice interior

Warm hospitality and tasty meze

Elie's is a little local meze place situated in a slightly quieter part of Södermalm, not far from the boat that goes to Hammarby sjöstad.

My company and I weren't super hungry so we decided to share a mixed platter of vegan meze. The selection was varied and everything tasted good. I would say that the size is ideal for one person.

The atmosphere is cozy and familiar, being a family-run restaurant. When we visited there was a birthday celebration happening and we were invited to toast by the owners.

I could definitely see myself stopping by Elie's again to try more vegan dishes from their menu.

Pros: Several standard meze dishes , Outdoor seating on quiet & green street, Laid back and homely

Cons: Rather small, perhaps an idea too book

I should come by more often

My first visit to Elie's took place maybe half a decade ago. I have no clear memory of it, just recall eating standards such as hummus, falafel, the occasional filled bun.. The second time I was there was just a couple of months ago, and they really seem to have improved their vegan fare (both in terms of quality and amount of options). Not only do they serve a vegan platter, they also have a try-them-all type of deal featuring no fewer than 13 cold and warm meze dishes!
I wasn't particulary hungry, so I just settled for a couple starters, such as rakakat phyllo dough if I'm not mistaken. I also sampled some of the food my friends ordered, and I was thoroughly pleased with it all.. and so were my friends!
While not being that far away, I just wish Elie's was a little closer to the areas that I frequent, as there seems to be enough on offer to warrant quite a few visits. Let's hope they'll begin to offer vegan desserts at some point as well :)
