One of my favorite places

I’m obsessed with this place; the atmosphere, service and food options! The amount of vegan pastry/dessert options makes my heart so happy, I also order all birthday cakes from here because their vegan baker is the best there is! The vegan caprese sandwich is absolutely delicious!! I only wish they offered vegan breakfast sandwiches!

Update: new fav coffee place!

Update: I take back everything! I wrote the following review before they made their adjustments, and I have so much to say.

First of all, the staff is super kind. The barista working on Sundays always calls us “friends” and made sure to disclose that they usually sweeten the matcha with honey when we relayed we are vegan. He wanted to check to make sure I wanted that removed, which I did, and I thanked him for thinking of me. Service is fast and kind!

I don’t drink coffee, but their oat milk matcha lattes are to die for! Sweetened perfectly every time, hot or iced! My husband loves their coffee!

The atmosphere is cute and comfy. They have an extensive game library and several booths and tables.

The vegan donuts are next level!! The vegan chocolate donut is so good; literally, everything I want in a cake donut. The weekend donuts have the most fantastic texture. This vegan baker they hired is knocking it out of the park!!

I would rate it five stars, but it is not a fully vegan establishment. However, the majority of their baked goods are vegan, which is impressive for a non-vegan place!

Past review: I really, really wanted to like this place after they took over what used to be CRAFT. CRAFT had amazing donuts and great coffee, but I can’t say the same about this place.

I got half a dozen vegan donuts, and all of them tasted stale like they had gone wrong. They had a horrible aftertaste that wouldn’t go away. I tried each donut, only taking a bite of each (no one else would eat them), and each one was awful. Mind you, I got all the different flavors.

I contacted customer service, and they explained they make sourdough donuts, and that may be why they taste off to me. Whatever they are, they’re not good (in my opinion). They refunded me, though, which was really appreciated. I wish there were good vegan donuts in the area again.

Excellent donuts and sandwiches!

The vegan donuts are tasty, especially the old fashioned. They also have delicious focaccia and can make a vegan caprese sandwich with vegan pesto. Non dairy milk options are available for drinks. Staff is super friendly and overall it has a very welcoming feel. Worth a visit!

Vegan donuts and Vegan cáprese sandwich….on point!

Went to the Dundee shop and picked up iced coffee and a dreamscicle Vegan donut, and Vegan caprese sándwich. All were delicious. I live kind of far, but will even go back to to get as much of the bread from the sandwich they have. That alone was worth it.

Pros: Múltiple Vegan options. , Small business run by kind people , Awesome coffee

Fast friendly vegan coffee and breakfast

I had a wonderful experience. 5 types of vegan doughnuts to choose from. I took a bite of my daughter's double chocolate one and it was delightful. Oat milk chai latte was yummy too. I was especially pleased with the friendly service. Will be back to play some of the board games they have there.

Pros: Housemade syrups, Macadamia milk which is generally not an option, Knowledgeable staff and fast service

Cons: Close at 3pm

cozy & vegan-friendly

staff was kind and helped choose vegan options. loved the v chocolate donut (melts in your mouth) and the cold coffee & oat cappuccino were spot on (although the $1.25 upcharge for oat is painful). my partner & I also tried the focaccia — both the sea salt and garlic & rosemary options (both vegan) were addictively good. we happened to go before St. Patrick’s and the staff was playing thematic music and generally brightening everyone’s day. I had been sad to see Craft close so I’m glad there’s still a good option in the suburbs for us!

Pros: clearly labeled vegan options , board games provided too!

Cons: steep cost for v milk, why are we all doing this

It's okay

Craft donuts was here before and was fully vegan with a ton of donuts and other morning treats. It was my favorite restaurant ever! Sadly they moved and elder oat took its place. They have a similar vibe but its not vegan based they do have a vegan donut daily.

Pros: Vegan donut daily

Cons: Not craft, Not all vegan or alot of vegan opinions , Wish they offered more plant based

Maybe the best donuts I’ve ever had.

I was on my way to Chicago to visit friends and wanted to pick up some donuts on the way and decided to pick up three of the magarita flavored donuts and oh my….. WHAT A FIND. Well worth the 30 minute drive!

Pros: Very chilled out atmosphere, Great staff!, They gave me a free sample of vegan focaccia!

Cons: Limited selection of vegan donuts, A tad bit expensive

Not like Craft

7/30- Tried them for the third and probably final time unless they change their recipe. Apparently they fry the donuts in coconut oil. I believe this is what is giving them the weird taste.

——

Tried them twice so far. The donuts are completely different. I don’t like them nearly as much as Craft. They have some type of unusual flavor or spice in them (maybe elderflower flavor but really no clue). We’ve tried the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. All of them had the unexpected flavor/after taste.

The lattes were fine. Quite small though.

Thank you for your reply. E+O use flaxseed instead of egg replacement and fry donuts in a light coconut oil instead of vegetable with the intention of providing our guests with the most wholesome experience while indulging a bit. We use nutmeg in our recipe as well which may be the spice you were tasting. There lattes have one size and are priced accordingly; we do see lines in the morning and one size makes it easier and more consistent for our baristas to measure and execute . They hand craft and measure each one to order and that kind of love takes time. We hope you come back soon and explore our savory focaccia bread which is also vegan. Thank you!

Amazing!

I am so so so happy to have vegan donuts once more in Dundee! These were totally different than Craft Donuts. But they were amazing!

Pros: Vegan coffee options, Yummy donuts , Cute place to sit and hang out

Cons: Hard to find a seat in the morning rush

We are glad you enjoyed! Please come back soon! The morning rush is strong between 9:15am and 11am on the weekends. We are glad to see you found a seat and appreciate your patience while waiting.

For those who are in need of a more peaceful space, ask the bakers for some organic oats or bread crumbs and then head to the riverwalk -you might enjoy a morning stroll and feed the ducks! :)
