Serves meat, vegan options available. Restaurants in the historic El Tovar Hotel by Grand Canyon south rim. Dinner menu has a vegan stuffed portobello mushroom main entree and one ratatouille (dairy). A few salads are vegetarian and could be requested vegan. Or ask for veggie chilli. The waiter will assist with adjustments. Better to reserve ahead to ensure a table. Open Mon-Sun 6:00am-11:00pm.

average food - Edit
nice restaurant.. but the food itself is lackluster. many options have to be veganized, and the beyond burger was just average tasting. it’s a good option to have for nicer dining. i wish they served breakfast longer as you cannot dine in and have breakfast food

Good Restaurant at the Grand Canyon - Edit
This is a good option for dinner, especially considering the competition. We had dinner there before and after a hike in the Grand Canyon. I had the vegan stuffed mushroom and we shared the Mediterranean Salad, with no cheese. Service is good. We made reservations a month ahead of time - the place was packed Saturday night, a little less so Tuesday night.
Read moreCame back eight years later and was happy to have lunch with no reservation. I had a vegan sandwich and fries , as well as a cocktail. It's a great place in a great location. Compared to restaurants in Sedona, the prices are reasonable!

Glad they have vegan options - Edit
The vegan appetizer and dinner options - bruschetta and a portobello mushroom dish were just ok, but we were grateful to have them after walking more than six miles on the rim. The bread and desserts are not vegan.
Read moreTip if you're driving through Flagstaff. Get carry-out from Plantasia and have a picnic along the rim trail. They have several things that you can keep at room temperature or in a fridge, in case a microwave isn't available.

Beautiful sunset! - Edit
We enjoyed the beautiful canyon sunset from our table at the El Tovar dining room as we were enjoying our vegan bruschetta appetizer and stuffed portobello mushroom main course. The bruschetta was a perfect blend of tomato, roasted garlic and Kalamata olives. The stuffed mushrooms were flavorful with a mix of puréed vegetables smothered with a smoky tomato-based sauce.
Read moreWe also stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed the vegan breakfast burrito made with beyond sausage. The burrito was big enough for two. We finished breakfast with a cappuccino foamed with almond milk.
Will definitely dine here again especially to enjoy the ambience.

Great choice - Edit
We got pretty lucky here. In line at 4:10 for early dinner on Friday night. They opened up at 4:30 taking reservations first. Think we were seated about 4:40.
Read moreThis is a cool old school restaurant. When you enter the restaurant they show you the desserts at a table while bringing you to your table. Of course none of the desserts were vegan😞
I had the bruschetta appetizer and stuffed mushroom. I’m not sure what was in the mushroom but wow was it good!
A little pricy place but it sure was nice having a good meal.
Pros: Tasty food
Cons: Not a ton of choices

Small but growing number of vegan items. - Edit
I’m a vegan local and frequent this place more for the ambiance and the thrill of “getting out” once in a while rather than for their food. Usually get the breakfast potatoes and toast (unbuttered) for breakfast, while bringing my own butter, chipotle mayo, and sausage to make it a full meal! 🙈
Read moreHOWEVER, this weekend I was THRILLED to find they finally added a substantial vegan item to their menu: a breakfast burrito with Beyond sausage. It was great, and I’ll definitely get it again.
Sadly, the avocado toast is not worth the $13, if anyone is wondering…
Pros: View., Breakfast burrito was great., Coffee and service are nice.
Cons: Limited items marked vegan; growing though. , How do you fail on avocado toast?! 😭

Good for being the only option - Edit
It’s not bad, but it is pretty much the only option when you’re visiting the Grand Canyon. The only option on the lunch menu was a salad, which you still had to remove the cheese from. We got a fruit salad as a starter and ended up being a small bowl of unripened cantaloupe. Not amazing but at least it’s something.

Surprised but happy! - Edit
We visited the park on a very cold day and didn't think we would find vegan options, but were pleasantly surprised when we stopped in for a drink. They have vegan chili and a Beyond Meat burger for a reasonable price. The burger comes on a brioche bun, so ask for a different option or no bun. They also have a Greek salad that you can get without cheese and with tofu on the side.

Very Nice All ‘Round - Edit
Three of us had the Navajo tacos with vegetarian chili, which were quite good. The tortellini was mediocre. The desserts (chocolate mousse taco, cheesecake, and flourless chocolate cake) were delicious. The prices were actually pretty reasonable, especially when compared to how expensive everything is for dinner.
Read moreWhy did it not get five stars, you ask? El Tovar is a restaurant that tries hard to create an air of elegance. Unfortunately, it never actually FEELS elegant. It feels like pretty much any other restaurant in an area overrun with tourists. To be fair, there is really nothing they door poorly and we were pleased with everything. It’s just wasn’t a five-star experience.

fine dining with vegan options. - Edit
This is a lovely full service restaurant. There were two vegan options on the menu and the server offered several suggestions for changes to salads and soups to veganize them. I loved the eggplant napoleon and my husband enjoyed the stuffed portabella.
