Not an enjoyable meal - Edit
The only real thing you can get is rice and beans is some form while subtracting the meat and dairy in that particular dish. I thought the Navajo Pizza sounded interesting. The staff is very nice and tried to be as accommodating as possible. I even talked to the chef who assured me that the refried beans that I ordered on it used vegetable oil. I also asked for rice as a topping. It came with sautéed peppers, onions and a few pickled jalapeños and avocado. The crust was deep fried, nothing like I expected. That combined with the heavy refried beans was overpowering. So I only ate a little of the crust. The guacamole ordered for the table had sour cream in it and the margarita that one of my dinner companions had, had egg in it. I learned these facts from a prior review. The staff was very friendly and I love a good bean burrito. I think I found the menu description of the crust misleading.. My other three dinner companions had wonderful meals.

I was planning on going to this restaurant Friday. Thanks to your review I will find another place. I appreciate you taking the time to write this review. I find it to be very easy to eat vegan in Mexico. I don't understand why dairy is in everything in the US.

No bueno! - Edit
We stopped in for margaritas and guacamole. The hostess took 15-20 minutes to tell us it would be 20-30 minutes to get a table and they would text us when the table was ready. While waiting I looked over the menu and noticed they put egg whites in the margarita and sour cream in the guacamole. When I inquired if we could get the margarita without egg white she said yea, but it wouldn’t be as good and it would have to be a skinny margarita.

No vegan options - Edit
I ended up having a salad that was basically shredded lettuce and tomato. The guacamole has sour cream in it. I was brought slices of avocado and charged $4 for them. Everything has dairy or meat in it, or in the sauces. I would not go here again.

Given Meat as Substitute without Asking - Edit
The service was highly uneducated! The chimichanga items they claimed to be vegetarian on the menu are fried in the same oil of their fried chicken dishes. Once we changed our selection in light of this, the vegan specified item included cheese which needed to be returned to the kitchen. THE WORST was an order was for a cheese tamale (even stated vegatarian on the menu). When arrived, it had chicken, which we found out half way through. When we told the service about this, they were apathetic and said that they ran out of the item and so they just substituted it for a chicken tamale... They did not even bother to let us know or ask if there was a preferred substitute, they just gave us a meat alternative without our notice. If this was a health related dietary restriction (allergies, intolerance, etc.), this business could face legal allegations and potentially be shut down for this kind of service. They should not be on Happy Cow. They are a misclaimer on this platform!
Pros: I learned not to go here again
Cons: Everything.

Tourists Trap - Edit
The title says it all. Overpriced, completely mediocre food that bears little resemblance to authentic Mexican food. $15 for a burrito? Give me a break. Bad food, bad service

3 options, only protein is beans - Edit
Waiter was knowledgeable but there were only three options that could be made vegan: vegetable fajitas, salad with corn and beans, and bean burrito. Refried beans come with cheese unless you specify vegan/no dairy. I got vegetable fajitas that were great! But my refried beans had a strand of cheese in them that the waiter said was an accident. Good atmosphere but very few options.
Read morePros: Vegetable fajitas were delicious, Great beer/margaritas, Nice atmosphere
Cons: Only 3 vegan options, Only vegan protein is refried beans , They may accidentally get cheese in the beans

Amazing Mexican food! - Edit
El Rincon lives up to it's claim it's the "Best Mexican Restaurant" in Sedona. The servers knew how to make dishes vegan and even replaced their guacamole that has sour cream in it with slices of avocado. All food made fresh with no microwave in sight. Highly recommend if looking for vegan Mexican food!
Read morePros: Easily made dishes vegan, Fresh vegetables, not microvaed , Black beans with lots of vegetables
Cons: Guacamole has sour cream already in it , Did not verify the refried beans are vegan, Dishes did not come with rice
