Wonderful surprise in Laredo! - Edit
We got so much food, including tamales and cookies from their little store, and thought it was very reasonable. The employees were all very nice and helpful. The Vegan Boneless is amazing! Everything we had was good, though. We traveled from Colorado to Laredo to meet our friend who brought our newly adopted senior dog from a shelter in San Miguel. We are so happy that we found this place on Happy Cow. We went because of the great reviews. Some places had no reviews, which we’re less likely to try, unless the food looks really good. Reviews are important.

LOVE LOVE LOVE - Edit
i was so surprised to see this restaurant in Laredo, first off. it was a really close drive for me which was so conveinent. if it's your first time, I highly recommend eating there. The place is so nice & cute, I love how there is a mini shop when you walk in which is great for my fellow vegans/vegetarians. The employees were extremely nice & showed me & my sister what they have to offer at the mini shop. They have this Special--don't know what time it starts but it ends at 4--I really recommend trying to get around that time to really score this deal. They offer so much in that Special & all for $16 (Drink, main course, soup, sides, dessert). Huge shoutout to Cony, she was amazing & so kind to us. And the food? Oh the food. Amazing. They offered a variety of vegan/vegetarian Mexican dishes & I really loved to see that. The food, again, was especially delicious. Would so come back.

Great Food - Edit
This place was a great find for us during our short stay in Laredo. They have a large menu on which vegan, gluten free, and spicy items are flagged. We ordered guacamole with chips and pico de gallo (fresh made, not spicy) to start. We also had posole (delicious with a rich broth) and another veggie soup (tasty with lots of veggies). And we had one order of the crispy cauliflower tacos (crispy because of the shredded cabbage, not the cauli, and zesty chipotle sauce in top) that came with delicious charro beans (had bits of tofu in it so it reminded me of beanie weenie). Everything we had was delicious and we had leftovers for breakfast. One thing I really liked about the menu was that they had some dishes with faux meat but many without it (my preference). The service was good and the place was bright and clean. Highly recommend eating here.

WOW! - Edit
Absolutely loved this place as we passed through! We tried the cauli wings, arroz azteca salad, charro bean soup, and the create your own bowl with an agua fresca and SHEESH! They didn’t miss on anything, the flavor, the serving size, the prices, the service was ALL phenomenal. I loved the see that they were so busy and after speaking with a few other customers, they stated they come every single week and I can absolutely see why! 💕

Nice vegan options - Edit
The items are really good especially their burrito callijero (just remove the cheese and ask for soy as a protein) . I order that most of the time. I wish this place was a lot more vegan friendly.

The BEST restaurant I've ever eaten in! My favorite since day 1! - Edit
El Quinto Sol is the only vegetarian restaurant in Laredo. TX and honestly has become my favorite place to eat for any occasion! Their breakfast is beyond great, their lunch is satiating and so savory, their dinners are so filling and juicy with bursting flavor! Their snacks and desserts are sweet, so nutrient dense and also guilt free! This restaurant is a dream to all vegetarians, including myself. I love every single item, the service and cleanliness of their facility is remarkable and the owners are passionate and have much integrity in what they do for our community. Besides the restaurant option, they also have some really good whole wheat sweet bread and natural health products such as avocado oil and other things. Definitely a 5/5 star restaurant if there ever was any and I highly recommend that anyone who loves their body and loves eating healthy rich in flavor food to come try it themselves. :) Their loaded oatmeal, avocado quinoa salad and tacos de chicharrón are amongst my favorites. :))

Great Vegan options - Edit
We weren't sure what to expect in Laredo, there's not much in the way of Vegan/Vegetarian, but the food was good & the service is even better! The staff was helpful in walking us through their extensive menu & alerting us to which dishes were best made as Vegan. The flautas were great!

Vegetarian Restaurant in Laredo! - Edit
It is wonderful to have a vegetarian restaurant in Laredo. The waiter helped identify vegan options. The flavor was helped by hot sauce and Pico de Gallo. I had Quinoa americana salad and tostadas.

Vegetarian, but could be more vegan friendly - Edit
It's difficult enough being vegetarian in this part of Texas, but being vegan is even harder. El Quinto Sol is to be commended for being the only vegetarian restaurant in Laredo. However, it is ovo-lacto with cheese used a lot, and vegan requests are unexpected. Some soups and salads are vegan. Many of the other items can be made vegan. I had a veggie sandwich, omitting the cheese. A lot of items are not shown in the online menu, which is difficult to read in any case. Dinner was fine. With not much effort, the restaurant could be made much more vegan friendly.
