A must visit - Edit
By far the best vegan meal I had in Costa Rica. There are limited vegan options, but the quality is exceptional. Make sure you try the patacones and the vegan chocolate mousse! Lovely, friendly staff. Will be back!

Stop in here to eat one night, it doesn’t have enough for more than once visit. Clearly labeled options, and the options are super good. Get the plantains, the avocado chocolate mousse, and take a fresh mango on your way out. The curry is incredible too.

Disappointed in options and service - Edit
Service was not great. Asked for lunch options but was before 11am so only offered breakfast menu which was fruit plate. Ordered that and some hash browns, toast and salsa and an espresso. Hash browns were the smaller portion ever. Never got the toast, or salsa or espresso. Brought out house blend coffee instead. Fruit plate was fine but obviously not very filling. Could use much improvement. Better of going to Varuna plant based restaurant next door if possible

Came here for dinner. Vegan options were clearly indicated on the menu. I ordered the curry and it was flavorful and filling. The chocolate avocado mousse was to DIE FOR.

Lovely spot for lunch - Edit
We went for lunch and there was a handful of vegan options. We had the vegan quinoa tacos and a veg quesadilla minus the cheese to make it vegan - really enjoyed both. They then had a vegan chocolate avocado mousse for dessert which was delicious! Though not sure if this is a permanent offering or a special

Vegan curry with coconut rice as part of their standard menu and they had an avocado chocolate mousse available on their desserts board for the day which was equally delicious.

It was good! - Edit
Maybe I’m too lenient with how I give my stars out but for me they 1)had vegan options 2) clearly labeled 3) kind staff. I got the vegan curry which was good! Wasn’t amazing, but always happy to go somewhere and have an option at the ready instead of needing to bother the server for what I can eat

Good salad - Edit
There is no vegan mains, but there are a couple of salads and quinoa tacos that are very nice. We had two quinoa salads and the tacos.

Nice hearty salad! - Edit
I had the quinoa salad and it was a generous plate, loved the blue berries vinaigrette, the chickpeas and kale have a nice crunch and the prunes provide a nice sweet balance. I wa going to have the quinoa tacos but the waitress recommended the salad . I told her I was hungry 😅

5 out of 10 - Edit
I’ve been to Manuel quite a few times & overall the restaurants and their vegan options are quite disappointing. The best place by far is the Falafel Bar. If that’s closed or you can’t eat chickpeas, you’re kinda out of luck for amazing vegan food here in Manuel. Best to just cook at home. The vegan food options here at Cafe Milagro were mediocre at best. We ordered the quinoa tacos, garden salad and quinoa salad.

The menu did not offer what the description says, the only warm option was a curry with vegetables. Everything else is cold, like some salads and tacos

Flavourful - Edit
I absolutely loved the food! I had the tropical salad with passionfruit vinaigrette, quinoa tacos, the vegetable curry and the vegan chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious. My only issue was that my husband, who is gluten intolerant, got sick after we were told that everything he ordered was gluten-free. It was unfortunately not the case. I'm not sure what contained gluten but it would be great if this place could review every single item on their menu and mark them for gluten. So, if you don't have issues with gluten, do not hesitate to go and eat there. If you can't eat gluten, I would avoid this restaurant... unfortunately😒

Limited options - Edit
The menu has changed since reopening from COVID for the worse (vegan wise). There aren’t many vegan options besides salads, veggies with rice, and quinoa tacos. I ordered the quinoa tacos which come with two and are considered a small plate. Though Delicious it would definitely take more to fill one up.

Great choc mousse! - Edit
I went here for breakfast and had a simple fruit plate and side of fried plantain, which were both great. I noticed on a board that there was a vegan avocado chocolate mousse so I ended up returning for dinner that evening.
Read moreThe main was a quinoa based dish which was tasty but a bit uninspiring and not very filling but the mousse was out of this world! It was so rich I couldn't finish it so non-vegan members of my group ended up trying it and were so impressed by how great a vegan dessert could be - what a win!
Pros: Desserts!, Fresh fruit, Cool atmosphere
Cons: Uninspiring mains, A bit pricey

Nice option - Edit
We are difficult being vegetarian and with a shellfish allergy staying in a coastal town. This place did a nice job. Everyone spoke English, and there were only a few vegetarian options for dinner but they let us order from the lunch menu, even though it was dinner, so we'd have more options. We got the quesadillas which were good. They did great with avoiding the shellfish allergy. We'd go back there.

great tasting food but too $$$ - Edit
Milagro was the veganist place near our hotel and menu had a few vegan options. While this place and other charge the nose, the food was mostly fantastic.
Read moreThe gazpacho soup had a great flavor and nice touch of spice. Salads like pled food n my dates plates. The big winner was the veggies and quinoa. I’m. Or a fan of the Q food bit was surprised with the tricolor sensation with spices and some balsamic. But there was more, homemade hot sauce was a I kick ass habanero that while a good amount of spice it kept the flavor of the chili pepper. Sadly we were too full to try the vegan mouse made with peanut butter and avocado
More stars if they set reasonable priced.
Pros: fantastic taste, good beer, nice little place
Cons: like much of this area they are charging tourists , locals I suspect get a different price oír never e
