Worth the Drive!!!

I cannot even begin to explain how divine this food was! Everything we tried was so authentic, flavorful, and filling in the best way! They even sell vegan meats by the pound, and I already can’t wait to go back here! This satisfied us in every way, from the rice and beans to their delicious conchas and tamales! Do not miss out on this place!

Pros: Authentic Mexican food, The staff was so kind and wonderful, Sells vegan meats by the pound

Cons: Literally none, Too far away from me

Best Mexican restaurant in Dallas

Seriously has some of the best protein options for tacos and gorditas. Best refried beans in Dallas, great horchata, and desserts!

Pros: Can purchase their meat in lbs. , Really good baked sweets, A clothing shop is inside as well.

Cons: Plasticware but hey at least it's all vegan.

Delicious!

Full bodied, great flavor throughout. So much vegan food is fluff, lacking basic food seasoning principles, but this was uncommonly satisfying. We had tamales, tacos, and burros - good portions and price and super tasty. A rad spot, with a case of gorgeous Mexican pastries and bulk house fake meat for purchase. El Palote is doing a cool thing here - such a welcome stop on our road trip. We wish we would have ordered 3x more tamales!

Pros: Tasty, Inspiring, Economical

Cons: I like less fake meat usually, Lack of such food in my town, .....

Vegan Mexican food!

If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, this is it! My husband got the enchiladas, I got the flaurrito plate (has jalapeños so cut if you don’t want them) and my son got the bbq sandwich. Surprisingly the bbq sandwich looked the best out of all of them! My son who is 16 loved it! Mine was super flavorful and good, just fried so I couldn’t eat all of it, hurts my stomach. My husband said the enchiladas were delicious. He said the hot sauce was the best! He likes super hot. IMO I wasn’t crazy about the beans, but everything else was good. They were a smaller size portion, but enough. Mine was enormous. I recommend getting the burritos here, have had them before and very good and large. I thought I took a pic of the bbq, but I guess I didn’t. I’m definitely trying that next time!

Authentic Mexican Vegan Food

Both my parents are from Mexico. The flavors reminded me of eating at my grandmothers kitchen table. EVERYTHING we tasted was on point! Highly recommend!

Pros: All vegan, Great variety , Many dessert options

Cons: None - priced reasonably , None - would be here often if I lived here, None - AMAZINGLY AUTHENTIC true to its roots.

Authentic Vegan Mexican Food

This is the best Mexican vegan food place I have had! Very authentic; not Tex-Mex. We enjoyed the Menudo, el pastor taco, barbacoa taco, rice and beans and tamales. Everything surpassed our expectations. Corn tortillas are fresh, handmade. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. We came on a Saturday at 5:00. Prices are very reasonable.

Pros: EVERYTHING IS VEGAN, Authentic Mexican Food, Excellent service

Cons: NONE!!

Riquísimo!

Haven’t been to pleased with the vegan options in Dallas but this place is a different story. I ordered tacos and the flautas plate. Everything was delicious and fresh and I especially loved the green salsa. I may order here again tomorrow.

Pros: Delicious tacos

Amazing Mexican food

Okay, so we had the birria tacos and the flautario. Those tacos were insanely flavorful. The salsa great, actually has some heat. I’ve been looking for these flavors for so long and so happy we found this place.

I would say the sour cream is skippable, seems more like vegan mayo. Other than that, everything was perfect. Wish I had room for dessert as the pastries look amazing.

Greasy & Barbacoa tasteless.

Work on making the meat less greasy and more flavorful, offer some fresh food options (like maybe taco salad, tortilla soup)

Updated from previous review on 2022-03-04

Pros: Complete vegan menu, Great Mexican bakery

Cons: Very very very oily/greasy, spiced for heat not for flavor

Actually taco salad and tortilla soup are not authentic Mexican food. This place was absolutely as authentic as can be for Mexican vegan.

Classic Mexican food!

El palote is a cute little restaurant with amazing food. I’ve been here twice while visiting Dallas and both times it hit the spot.
Their tacos are to die for. Not the biggest fan of their queso by itself as an appetizer, but it’s good on other things!
My favorite Dallas vegan spot- don’t skimp out on this place!

Authentic Mexican food

We ordered off of Uber eats yesterday and the food was amazing. This is the authentic Mexican food I miss. Everything was great-queso, beans, rice, tacos, chimichanga, flautas platillo. We chose vegan steak, pork and ground beef. Everything was so good! I’d love to go in next time because I see they have some bakery items that weren’t an option on Uber eats. 🤤

Pros: Authentic , So many vegan alternatives

New Location Added

I just want everyone else on here to know that El Palote has added a ghost kitchen on 921 West Commerce Street, Dallas, TX 75208. And as far as I know that specific location is only available to order (either pickup or delivery) through UberEats. So if y’all are in need of a shorter commute to El Palote check it out! 😇

Updated from previous review on 2021-12-22

Pros: Taco Plate w Rice and Beans never fails, Always have juicy lemons and plenty of cilantro

Cons: The ghost kitchen does not offer sweet bread

Mexican style vegan restaurant

El Palote Panaderia is a vegan restaurant I've been waiting to try for a while now. The crowd was good inside, I went there around lunch. I like the seating arrangement. I ordered the loaded 🍟fries and loaded nachos. Added a strawberry 🍓 fried pie for dessert. To be Mexican style vegan food, it was well made. I was full at the end of this lunch break and did not feel overly stuffed. I like the concept of what they're doing here. All I can say is keep up the good work 👍👍

Pros: Good portion of food, A lot of options to choose from, Bakery on site

Cons: Location, Not enough staff members on certain days

The Best Vegan Restaurant in Dallas

I’ve lived in DFW all my life and grew up on authentic Mexican food as well as TexMex. I’ve been vegan for 4 years, and eating this took me back to my childhood!!! It was SOOO DELICIOUS! I got the fajita tacos. The rice and beans were seasoned PERFECTLY. I can’t wait to go back.

Pros: Food, Authenticity , Atmosphere

Our Road Trip Go-To

This is the fourth time we've driven cross-country in the last year or so, and the fourth time we've made it a point to brave Dallas and come here. We love love love this place. The asado de puerco and the barbecue sandwich are both to DIE for.

Pros: Fully vegan, Delicious, Incredible meat-substitutes

Cons: Location

Amazing!!!

We ordered from this restaurant a couple of times via Goldbelly and it was shipped to our house. Delicious! Amazing! I wished this restaurant would open a second location where we live.
