Good quick option for Old San Juan - Edit
Be sure to specify no Mayo/no cheese but the veggie Philly was tasty and filling! A couple options for vegan “meats” if you ask

Did you ask them to see the ingredients of their bread options? We also need to ask them to give it to us in a different bread, the "medianoche" bread, i read it & seems to be vegan.
Read moreHere in Puerto🇵🇷Rico, the breads are not vegan-friendly. Most contain some kind of animal-derived ingredient, for example; 🍯honey, 'L-Cysteine' (animal and even human sources such as goose and duck feathers, human hair, swine bristles, and hooves).

Decent place for a quick bite in old San Juan - Edit
First off the soy meat options are quite good. Just make sure you're very clear about cheese if you're vegan. My wife ordered no cheese on her sandwich, it had cheese then they had charged us almost 5 dollars for a Swiss cheese thing

Pleasantly surprised - Edit
It's rare to find veg options in a fast food establishment, but that's why you go to El Mesón! There are 4 vegetarian sandwiches on the menu, which you can request to be made vegan. I got the Philly cheese steak sandwich, made with vegan chicken pieces, and simply ordered with the cheese. Their fries are also tasty!

Really good fries! There are multiple vegetarian options on the menu - Edit
Vegetarian options were plenty. I asked for the omelette sandwich without meat and they were easily about to do that.

good sandwich option - Edit
Surfer sandwich without mayo was vegan. Staff was friendly and explained how I could ensure that sandwich would be vegan. Fries were good, too!

Messy. - Edit
El Meson...PLEASE LEAVE ONE SIDE OF THE BREAD UNCUT WHEN YOU SERVE THE VEGAN OPTIONS! I think the cheese and sauces (not vegan) are supposed to hold it all together. Without the extra stuff, the crumbles fall out of the sand which EVERYWHERE. That being said: THANK YOU FOR HAVING VEGAN STUFF!

Great fast food - Edit
Super convenient, 3 veg options. Was a little bland with taking off mayo and cheese but added mustard and that helped.

Never Had Vegan Salami - Good - Edit
The veggie salami was good without the cheese and mayo, but it would be nice if they had substitutes. Still a good place of you like sandwiches and are trying to please meat eaters too. Side note, supposedly you can get any sandwich on a baked potato, neat!

Cons: Need to ask for no cheese and no mayo.
