The place itself was very nice and everybody was very friendly. The handmade stuff was beautiful. The food itself tasted very well bit compared to the price it was a very small potion.

The burrito didn‘t have much spices on it, it was definitely lacking in flavor. I also had a chocolate tart made of sweet potato, which was quite good.

Delicious Pozole & Shakes - Edit
Pozole is a one of my favorite Mexican dishes and I'm always happy to find it while I'm traveling. El Manati serves a tasty Pozole that is very filling and full of flavor, the portion is large and the price is great. I also tried their Cohete shake which is a banana, Cacao, coconut milk and vanilla shake and it was everything I needed. It usually comes with both coffee and Cacao but I got them to sub they coffee for more Cacao.

I met the owner of the place and she's very nice and was very attentive to me and the needs of others around the restaurant. I highly recommend El Manati and am excited to return to try the other vegan options on their menu

Great breakfast - Edit
Vegan options are marked but it’s a good idea to still specify. I ordered chiliquiles which were marked vegan but then they asked if I wanted to add crema. The food was delicious and the views were superb. I don’t know how often they have live music but we were very lucky to come when they did. They also have a gift shop selling handmade goods and original artwork.

The best spot in Bacalar. - Edit
Everything here works. So may options. They only don't have 5* because not fully vegan. Don't let that out you off. This is THE place in Bacalar to eat, drink and chill in a healthy happy environment. The food is all delicious. The staff kind, unlike many places in Mexico. There's a love of nature and they even have a herb garden, and an artisan retail space where the manager Abraham♥️ also sells his sculptures. #Veganuary

The Restaurant has a very beautiful tropical garden. They have some vegan options available but unfortunatley not a lot. I went there once for breakfast and I had the vegan Pancakes. They were very tasty.

I had great enmoladas with mole sauce one day, so went for breakfast the next day and ordered avocado toast. What a disappointment... 1 tiny piece of toast with some avocado sprouts and radish for 80 pesos.... Delicious but left a bad taste.

Gorgeous garden but overpriced - Edit
The cafe and shop are very nice (although things in the shop looked expensive) and the garden is gorgeous, but the food is really expensive for what you get. I went for breakfast and my coffee and juice were lovely, but the avocado toast with radishes and sprouts I ordered was just one small slice with a few radish slices and one sprig of sprouts. Everywhere else I’ve been in Mexico the portions are generous. Also they shut at 3.30 so you can only ever go for breakfast if you have plans during the day.

Just went there for drinks and I was amazed at how beautiful the place was. There's a space dedicated to art, a beautiful courtyard with a calm atmosphere and a shop selling local clothing and natural products.

This place is very close to Bacalar's main square or zócalo. We sat down in the garden and is very lovely with nice breeze from the lake. Food is good and they have vegan desserts also. Their fruit juices and smoothies are delicious and made on site. They even have golden milk!
