Food was good - Edit
I got the pizza and the both sandwiches as well as the Mediterranean bowl, food was good I think the bowl looked a bit sad and was a bit dry but the beans were really good just the portion was not enough in my opinion. The sandwiches were nice and you can order it with fries as well.
Read moreMy pizza was really good and probably the best in my opinion. Really crunchy and good tomato sauce.

Great food - Edit
I had the vegan pizza and was so surprised how delicious it was! The flavour is popping with it and one pizza is more than enough for one person. It was wonderful and I would definitely have it again. The decor is just divine inside the restaurant and everything is so clean. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and everyone was smiling and happy! They also have vegan satay that was my second option which I’ll have next time I’m in Kota Kinabalu

Great vegetarian and vegan food - Edit
They have many vegetarian and also some vegan and gluten free options. The vegan pizza was great! The only „bad“ thing was, that we had to wait a long time to get our dishes. That’s why only 4 stars.

We came here for lunch a couple of times and had the Mexican rice wrap with Tofu and the Tofu banh mi. Both are very tasty and well priced.

Not great - Edit
Initially, I had high hopes for El Centro. Vegan options clearly marked.
Read moreStaff helpful and welcoming.
Food was very disappointing indeed. The tofu / tempeh satay was a particular letdown. Burritos slightly better. The chilli tasted quite nice but I don’t get why they served it with a mountain of bizarre fried pastry squares. Rice would be better.
Overall not somewhere I’d hurry back to. The food just was just too poor.
Pros: Nice staff, Cheap, Vegan options
Cons: Poor quality food

A good amount of vegan options - Edit
Vegan (vg) is clearly marked on the menu. There were plenty of great options. The veggie burrito is not listed as vegan, but I asked if they could adapt it and they were happy to accommodate. Really tasty and super filling.

Lovely staff! - Edit
The staff were very accommodating and understood the difference between vegetarian and vegan so it was relatively easy to make adjustments when ordering. The food was ok but it definitely was not authentic Mexican; lacked flavour and presentation.

Maybe Mexican? - Edit
Staff were fine, understood removing dairy to veganise burrito. The burrito itself was slightly bland & constructed in an odd way (you can’t eat it with hands, need to use knife & fork). The pita chips & salsa it came with were actually very nice. There is a Thai salad which is vegan, vegetarian options are marked. A bit overpriced (some items more so than others). Serves alcohol & cocktails. It’s not a bad or amazing place, but has a very high tripadvisor rating, which from my experience I don’t think is deserved. Just average, 3*

Overpriced, small portions, bland taste - Edit
Very disappointing for multiple reasons. The male owner was extremely rude to us, we ordered for 100ringget of food that was tasteless. All the food our party ordered was super bland, super overpriced and tiny portions. We didn't even get drinking water (we did order cocktails). I don't understand the good reviews because both food and serving was horrible.

Nothing listed fully vegan but so much can be made vegan and the people working are super accommodating at making changes. We at tofu satay and black bean tacos, but there are burgers, salads, fajitas, pizzas. Lots of fresh juices made to order plus filtered water. Restaurant is palm oil free.

I ordered the black bean burrito (Vegan) and it was very bland. No seasoning or spices to make it worth the price. Chips that came with were fresh and good, but same thing could use a little salt or seasoning.

My veggie burger was falling apart instead of being crispy outside as it was more likely reheated in the microwave, the same with the bun.

Delicious - Edit
I came here because I was a bit tired of asian food and was especially craving mexican food. I had the hummus starter, the hummus wasn't the best I've ever had but it was still yum. Came with delicious bread and raw veggies. Then I had the black bean tacos veganized (which was easy, didn't even have to explain anything). They were also delicious, I especially loved the salsa that came with them. They also had a few vegan dishes, for example a thai salad which I'm gonna go back and try another day. It was a bit pricey compared to other places in Malaysia but I think it was worth it, just to get something different.

Nope - Edit
If you're a vegetarian there's some choice, as a vegan not at all. Yes, of course, you can remove the cheese and the sauce, but then there's nothing tasty left. That's not what I call good vegan cooking.
Read moreI went for one of the only vegan options: hummus. Wasn't good. Tasted quite industrial, not like 'restaurant-hummus'. For main dish I ate the falafel wrap. Again, not good. Over-deep-fried so the whole structure was gone, had to have it without any sauce and also the feta removed, and with these factory-wraps... come on! Making wraps is the easiest thing in the world, it only takes some flour, salt and water and it's downright delicious... if you run a restaurant you can't possibly come up with vacuum packed wraps. I would be embarrassed to serve this to my friends coming over for dinner.
I go to a (locally quite pricey) restaurant to eat food from a professional cook that cooks better than I can. This I wouldn't even make myself on a sunday night when I'm too lazy to cook.
Pros: Central location
Cons: Bad food
